LEGO Mixels Series 9 – the final series review
Mixels was a theme introduced in March Mixels are small creatures that can mix and combine with one another in creative and unpredictable story lines.
Their opponents are called Nixels and they come in certain sets, having some designs. Each Mixel set features one buildable figure, while some of them come with Nixels in packaging. Mixels packaging have a small transparent window to let the buyer take a sneak peek at the pieces included in the set.
Mixels are able to combine in one of two ways; one being combining with a random mixel from the series such as Zorch with Volectro , or with all three from their respective tribe such as Zorch with Flain and Vulk. They can mix, max, and murp. A mix is when two Mixels mix in a useful way. A max is when all three from a tribe from certain year In this case Infernites , or mix together. A murp is when two, three, four, or even more Mixels mix in a way that is not useful. The mixes are more common between two of a different tribe than two of a same Tribe.
Mixels appear to live in Tribes. The first series includes three tribes: Infernites Fire-based , Cragsters stone and underground , and Electroids electricity. Series 3 has three more tribes: the Glorp Corp slime , Spikels spikes , and Wiztastics magic tribes. A fourth wave released in February , with three more tribes: The Orbitons space-themed , Glowkies cave and night-themed and another Infernites wave. A fifth wave was released in June , with three more tribes: The Klinkers steampunk-themed , Lixers tongue-themed and another Frosticons wave.
A sixth wave was released in October , with three more tribes: The Weldos contruction-themed , Munchos food-themed and another Glorp Corp wave. The ninth wave introduced the Newzers TV news-themed , the Trashoz city sanitation-themed , and the Nindjas ninja-themed , concluding the theme. Mixels had television programming that aired on Cartoon Network. Each episode lasts 30 seconds to six minutes. There are two seasons, with 25 aired episodes. In March of , a special episode, this time being of a duration of at least 22 minutes, was aired, featuring all Series 4 Mixels, expanding the story, another 22 minute-long episode, A Quest For The Lost Mixamajig, aired in September , featuring all Series 5 and 6 Mixels.
The new venture will feature animated content primarily shorts , a rich digital gaming experience, a collectible building toy concept and more. Animated content will air on Cartoon Network and on www. A collectible portfolio of low-priced mini building sets will launch in three waves in and an app-powered gaming experience will engage fans in a deep mobile game that will cover the sprawling world of Mixels.
Mixels was developed through a true collaboration between Cartoon Network, a leading global kids entertainment company, and The LEGO Group, globally renowned for its heritage of quality, creative play experiences. The property was developed by a multinational team of content innovators, designers and animators — from Los Angeles to Atlanta to San Diego to Connecticut to Denmark.

LEGO Mixels have been popular both with collectors who like the cute little brick-built characters, and those who are looking for small interesting parts for their own creations. The new ball-joint pieces that are available in all of the LEGO Mixels sets have been particularly useful. Sadly, LEGO Mixels is going to get retired after this series, so this is your last chance to collect them…. This time we get the green Trashoz that take care of the garbage, the orange Nindjas with ninja weapons and powers, and the Newzers who cover the news from around Mixopolis. These are actually my favorites from this series.

The final series of Mixels have hit the shelves and of course I bought them all up. First up in series 9 are the Trashoz, a tribe of helpful trash-gobbling city workers. Gobbol, here, is a cheerful little doofus of a dumpster. I like the finished Gobbol quite a bit. I love the addition of a bright orange fish as well as the more common pearl silver hiding in his mouth. The Nixel explains some of those black elements, but there are a number of black snot bricks inside Gobbol.
