If you look from the right side you can hardly see the human form of Kei at all! The angle you choose to look from really influences the figure! While most of the figure uses matte paint, the mouth has a glossy effect to it that really brings out that living, wet appearance!
After taking a tranquillizer to the arm, Satou decides the best route to stop the spread is to simply cut off his arm!! This scene was so amazing!! The carefree look on his face that simply does not match his unthinkable action makes it all the more amazing! The Ajin that has remained level headed through many battles was able to make such a quick decision… it really gets you to realize just how differently the Ajin can fight!

I predicted you would review it, and I was right. This is on my queue, but I haven't had the time to watch it yet. CGI anime has been more of a miss than hit for me, and the best ones were shows I thought were okay I'm looking at you Cyborg Call of Justice. When I heard about the main character dying in the first episode, I immediately thought of Yu Yu Hakusho even though Ajin is something I know will be completely different. I wonder if the concept was derived from Yu Yu Hakusho, but unfortunately, I haven't seen that show beyond the first episode--so I can't really say whether it looks like there were parallels or references.

Mysterious immortal humans known as "Ajin" first appeared 17 years ago in Africa. Upon their discovery, they were labeled as a threat to mankind, as they might use their powers for evil and were incapable of being destroyed. Since then, whenever an Ajin is found within society, they are to be arrested and taken into custody immediately. Studying hard to become a doctor, Kei Nagai is a high schooler who knows very little about Ajin, only having seen them appear in the news every now and then. Students are taught that these creatures are not considered to be human, but Kei doesn't pay much attention in class. As a result, his perilously little grasp on this subject proves to be completely irrelevant when he survives an accident that was supposed to claim his life, signaling his rebirth as an Ajin and the start of his days of torment. The catch is that Ajin are considered dangerous by humans due to their relative invincibility. They are outcasts, feared and hunted by the rest of society while being used as lab rats by the government. After ending up in a — quite literally — sticky situation, Kei gets rescued and meets another Ajin named Sato played by Ayano Go.
