Violet Evergarden: The Movie available on Netflix October 2021
Although the film was released in Japan in , American viewers have had to wait much longer to stream the long-anticipated installment of the series. Since then, fans have eagerly anticipated the ending, which was finally released on Netflix this October.
The anime originated from the Japanese novel written by Kana Akatsuki and illustrated by Akiko Takase , the first of which came out in December The novel has four volumes, the last one published in March , and has yet to be translated into English.
However, the anime adaption is dubbed. While finding her way through the past and present, Violet also searches for Major Gilbert , the man who took her in and taught her how to read, write and talk. Although Violet wakes up in the hospital and finds herself completely alone, she continues to hold hope that the Major, as she calls him, will return for her. Finally, in October the movie was available to watch on Netflix. Yet, due to its once again ambiguous ending, the viewers were once again only left to hope and imagine what they wish had officially happened.
The movie starts with a girl who receives letters that Violet wrote for her grandmother addressed to the girl. The girl then begins to do research on Violet, traveling to the places Violet had previously worked — a plot progression that led fans into the story of how Violet comes to find the Major.
The story is then thrown into a gut-wrenching and dramatic fight between the Major and Hodgins and then Violet and the Major as Violet begs to see the Major. The ending, however, is anticlimactic; the Major chases after Violet and tells her that he still loves her and hopes that Violet will stay with him. This is only an ending scene of the two making a promise, presumably that they would stay together, although this is just assumed along with their marriage and children.
The light novel tells the story of Violet Evergarden in a completely different manner. The ending of the light novel is the same type of open ending that the movie has in the sense that, while Gilbert wants Violet to be happy without him because of his guilt, he still wants her to stay with him.
As a result, it is assumed that they end up together. The story provides a beautiful rendition of emotions through 13 episodes, two movies and a special. I am an adventurous person trying to find my way in the world. I love reading and writing and try to do as much as I can in my free time.

While it is a popular belief that animated movies are mostly made for children, there are plenty that are just as well-suited to adults. Streaming services like Netflix have allowed people to instantly pull up movies for whatever mood they are in. Sometimes that mood means wanting to just sit back, relax, and watch a feel-good movie that will make you more optimistic about the world. Animated movies are great for that! Netflix has recently greatly expanded its collection of animated movies, so there are plenty in multiple languages for subscribers to pick from! A slice-of-life film following three storylines of youth in China, Flavors of Youth is a great, heartwarming story of nostalgia and reunion, and how the little things in life—a bowl of noodles, a red dress given as a gift from a sister, or a set of cassette tapes—are what matter most, often leading to the formation of beautiful relationships.

Most p eople, in fact, are constantly in change as they react to the joys and hurt, the happiness and pain, and the push and pull of life, and evolve as they travel through these experiences. But the ones who resist, who insist on standing still, can only watch as life passes them by. Violet, however, holds out hope that Gilbert has somehow survived. And although the anime has prepared viewers for deeply affecting content, that, too, is all the stronger in this final film: Violet will settle her feelings for the missing and presumed dead Gilbert one way or another, and we feel the heaviness of that almost as much as she does. The twist and turns of this journey start with the unconventional structure of the film, which begins several generations later, with Violet most likely long dead and gone, as a young woman takes a latter-day interest in auto memory dolls.

With that disclaimer out of the way, the Violet Evergarden Movie is the story of Violet being reunited with Major Bougainvillea. It also tells the story of a young boy with a terminal illness named Yuris. Yuris wants Violet to write letters to his parents, younger brother, and friend to be delivered after he dies. In fact, I would have actually preferred if Gilbert had just continued to be presumed dead — like how the anime series ends.
