Having the entire show together in a single release, packaged in a very handsome tin, really shows the scope of the series, as it simply explodes from the very first episode of Justice League to the last installment of Justice League Unlimited. What started out as a considerably shy series, mostly playing it safe, took grander and grander risks with each successive season, ultimately becoming a series of true epic scope. It was obvious they were still working a lot of kinks out when it came to creating worthwhile two-part episodes, using the ever-evolving new computer technology, and just learning how to successfully write a team show. After focusing on superheroic solo adventures, save for the handful of team-ups from their previous series like Superman: The Animated Series , Batman: The Animated Series and Batman Beyond , it was a noticeable adjustment for the creative team, but one they really got the hang of in the second season of the series. That, my friends, is when Justice League just took off and kept on going up and up.

The DC Animated Universe spanned many shows throughout its production. While Unlimited is technically a sequel to Animated Series , their tone differed greatly from each other. Justice League Unlimited is leaned more towards mature storytelling while the Animated Series caters the children. Justice League Unlimited had some pretty memorable episodes.

Taking a cue from the comics, the Flash and the Hal Jordan GL were always like best buddies back in the day. I thought he was an interesting character and we were super-excited to have Powers Boothe come in and play him. So that was way cool. But the thing that James Tucker and I were really surprised at was how well the climax works. I just think it fires on all cylinders at that point.
The Boys and Invincible could ruin Rick and Morty's spinoff, The Vindicators, which wouldn't have been an issue for another potential spinoff show. Between The Boys , Invincible , and particularly the recent animated anthology series The Boys: Diabolical , there are already plenty of critically acclaimed R-rated, dark, gory, and blackly comic parodies of the MCU on the small screen right now. There are still some successful sketch comedy shows, but none have the massive critical success and large fan base of Rick and Mort y.
