Expanding on his most recent series of paintings that fuse the physical materiality of a canvas with abstract retro-futuristic landscapes and the immateriality of digital imagery and thought itself, Yousha Bashir has created an immersive panorama that deceitfully escapes the frames of the booth only to manifest back into three screens mounted on the walls.
Alireza Asadi, whose work is characterized by spectrums of gaudy colors and use of narrative styles inspired by comic strip traditions and manga, engages more familiarly with retro-futurism, drawing the viewer into a nostalgic era of amusement arcades and their electro-mechanical video game machines. As so, he has recreated a classic arcade machine and despite keeping with the original shape, has imagined a more modern interface, using both the main screen as well as the control area to present his pieces.

The shortlist features an eclectic group of accomplished international 3D artists who bring diverse creative perspectives and technical skills. The initial selection committee shortlisted 25 artists for the final round of the Award. Their works will be featured in the third Dubai Canvas Festival taking place in March. The dazzling yellow covers every inch of your body, and soon you begin to feel the vibrant energy and joyous optimism with which prolific Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh , painted them in Arles, in the south of France during We also take in sweeping views of the majestic landscapes of olive gardens and cypresses and immerse ourselves in Fields with Irises at Arles. The setting changes and so does the colour palette as black crows flutter menacingly over windswept wheat fields against the backdrop of a stormy, turbulent sky.
