Oct 27, 5, I caught up on the manga and while I love My Hero Academia a ton, this series might have some of the most boring villains I have seen in any entertainment medium. Seriously, I was almost never interested in anything happening when it came to the villains. The majority of them have no backstory, and those that do just have it be "I was hurt," and leave it at that.

Their actions so often lack much of a motive either, it always feels like they're just there for the sole purpose of causing trouble. The only villains I really enjoyed were All for One because of how connected he is to everything, and Gentle Criminal because he had some pretty cool interactions with the cast and managed to make his performance memorable; it's a shame that the arc he was involved in though lasted only 14 chapters. I would love to hear y'all's thoughts on My Hero Academia's villains.

Nov 22, 3, Pretty bland and unmemorable, for the most part. A lot of the villains have yet to be given a backstory but that isn't a negative thing, there full story will be told in due time.

May 22, 14, Love 'em Stain and especially Gentle were amazing, and Shigaraki and his crew are really fun recurring villains. Overhaul was just okay, but the new villains from the current arc in the manga have a lot of potential.

It's obvious they didn't know what they're doing, which is why AFO had to step in.

Now that AFO is out of the picture, you can see that their goals are coalescing more. They've gotten more focused. The problem has been when Hori moves away from them - the Yakuza arc was kind of a letdown for this reason. I dunno, the whole manga has felt a little aimless since the AFO fight. That was such an emotional zenith, a lot of plotlines coming together.

I only really like Gentle mainly because of his interactions with La Brava and Deku, his backstory, and his personality.
