The 25 Best Dragon Ball Movies To Watch Right Now

This history of cinema is littered with super scary and powerful villains who end up getting bumped off in a way that is either anticlimactic or simply undermines the whole idea that they're the big bad.

The most frustrating, easily defeated movie enemies pop up in huge movies: The Lord of the Rings , the James Bond saga, A Nightmare on Elm Street - you name a really big movie and you'll more than likely find a villain who's easy to beat. Why is it so frustrating to watch a hero defeat their nemesis? Isn't that what we want? Yes, but it's fun to watch a protagonist struggle to win the day, especially when a villain is built up as this impossibly strong enemy either mentally or physically that no one can defeat.

To see a character like that get trounced in 30 seconds or less feels like a cheat, even if it's inevitably what we want. The villains here have all been beaten in disappointing ways, either by trickery, accident, or good luck. We love them and think they should have gotten a fighting chance.

Boba Fett is easily one of the coolest characters in the Star Wars universe. Viewers don't get much information about Fett aside from the fact that he has super cool Mandalorian armor although there wasn't a name for it in the '80s and has the ability to roll with the Empire while not actually working within their corporate structure.

Even though he didn't get a lot of screen time in Empire , audiences were hoping to see him pop off in Return of the Jedi. However, before he could even fire one blast from what should have been a super cool laser cannon, he was knocked into a Sarlacc pit by Han Solo - on accident - like some kind of scrub. Boba Fett, we hardly knew ye. He does, of course, canonically crawl out of the pit, but this moment ended the character's run on the big screen.

Emperor Snoke isn't just the Supreme Leader of the First Order - he's an all-seeing, all-knowing Sith Lord who acts as the dark hand of fate in a galaxy far, far away. Nothing goes on that he doesn't know about, including the comings and goings of Rey and Kylo Ren. So when he's tricked by the two people whom he's keeping close tabs on and then cut in half by Ren, it's a bit anticlimactic. That being said, Rian Johnson makes the demise of the big boss go down easy by putting it at the beginning of a thrilling fight sequence where Rey and Ren go back-to-back while taking on Snoke's guards.

It's really only after the credits have rolled that you realize the baddest villain in the series has just been offed at the end of the second movie with little fanfare. It's an interesting choice, but it takes the air out of the character. Shredder is unquestionably a ferocious fighter who'll stop at nothing to turn the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles into turtle soup, and in The Secret of the Ooze , we learn just what happens when a master ninja is injected with the same substance that turned Leonardo, Donatello, Michaelangelo, and Raphael into the radical foursome that we know and love.

The ooze turns Shredder into Super Shredder: He's jacked, he's ripped, he's so whacked out on ooze that even his armor changes shape. He clearly means business, or at least he does for about 30 seconds. In a demonstration of his newfound strength, Super Shredder destroys all the pylons supporting the pier that he's standing under, causing the whole thing to fall down and crush him.

With just a few speeches and a meal plan that's heavy on protein, he takes over Gotham, imprisons the police, and takes Batman out of the picture completely. Batman has a lot of villains in his rogues' gallery, but in The Dark Knight Rises, Bane proves that he's the villain who can take care of business. Bane's total domination of Gotham and back-breaking power is exactly why his quick demise is such a drag. After going punch for punch with the Dark Knight in a brawl through the streets of Gotham, Bane is defeated when Selena Kyle rides up on a motorcycle and shoots him.

There's no quip, no return for one last noble effort, he's just done. On one hand, this has to be disappointing for all the Bane heads out there, but on the other hand, it totally rocks. Of course that's how you take out Bane. He's a big brute who's prone to monologuing about socio-economic politics while wearing a pumped-up scuba mask.

You can't defeat him through any means other than just putting him out of his misery like a sick dog. It would have been cool to see Bane get more of a send-off, but that's not how Papa Nolan decided things should go.

Throughout Insidious the Lipstick-Face Demon is presented as a horrific creature who will stop at nothing to claim the soul of a frightened young boy. Each glimpse that we catch of the demon is legitimately terrifying even in an illustration , which is why it's so shocking that he just dips out at the end of the movie. After kidnapping Dalton and bringing him to the Further, he locks the boy up while sharpening his claws in his weirdly whimsical lair.

Dalton's father, Josh, tracks the boy down and rescues him before getting into a brief altercation with the demon and then fleeing. What does Lipstick-Face Demon do? He throws a tantrum. He rattles the doors and windows of Josh's house and tries to grab Dalton from under his bed, but you can tell that his heart just isn't in it. He just peaces out and moves onto another kid. Josh ends up possessed by another demon at the end of the film, but the easy escape from ol' Lipstick-Face is seriously anticlimactic.

Throughout It Chapter One and It Chapter Two , we learn that Pennywise isn't just a creepy clown, but an interdimensional creature who feeds on fear.

He knows the deepest secrets and fears of the children of Derry, and uses that knowledge in truly twisted ways. It's safe to say he's a seriously upsetting villain. After two entire movies full of Pennywise scaring children with all manner of monstrous abilities, the thing that brings him down is a series of insults.

When the Losers Club ventures into the sewer to finish off the clown, the final battle turns into a roast battle with Pennywise as the target. He gets so burned by these regular humans that he turns into a little Pennywise clown baby. It's honestly embarrassing. Between and , Ernst Stavro Blofeld makes moves to take over the world and ruin the happy-go-lucky life of James Bond.

Played by a variety of actors most notably Donald Pleasence , Blofeld is Bond's greatest enemy. He may not be able to match Bond's physicality, but he outthinks Bond at every turn - which is why his quick defeat in For Your Eyes Only is so disappointing.

At the time, there was a legal issue with producer Kevin McClory, who owned the rights to Blofeld and SPECTRE, so rather than just ignore the character, the director decided to dress up an actor like Blofeld and just drop him down an industrial chimney while he sits in a wheelchair. Even worse, this happens in the pre-credits cold open. It's hardly a fitting end for Bond's greatest enemy. Thanks to an entire video game franchise built around Goro being the super-hard-to-beat penultimate boss, as well as the fact that he's an 8-foot-tall, four-armed meathead, it makes sense that audiences were underwhelmed when he was defeated by Johnny Cage in the film.

Goro's whole thing is that he's Shang Tsung's body man, someone who pulverizes anyone who dares to make it to the end of the tournament, but that's not what we get in the movie. Instead of a four-armed massacre, the audience watches Johnny Cage do the splits, punch Goro in the junk, and then run up a mountain and kick Goro off a cliff.

Well, Cage doesn't even kick Goro off the cliff; he just kicks the four-armed monster, who then slips off the side of a cliff and falls into a swirling mass of clouds. And that's a wrap on Goro. The most famous part of the Clash of the Titans remake was the much-memed clip of Liam Neeson as Zeus declaring "release the kraken! The demigod Perseus is determined to save the town from the beast, so when the final act rolls around, we're ready for an epic sea monster vs.

Instead, in an earlier side-task, Persues battles Medusa and lops off her head. Then, when the kraken arrives, he shows Medusa's head to it, and the beast instantly turns into stone, defeated. It certainly doesn't qualify as an "easy" villain defeat, since Perseus has to go to great lengths to get Medusa's head.

But it's still kind of funny that once the big climactic line that everyone's waiting for is finally uttered -- "release the kraken! Dorothy immediately ends up on Wicked's S-list when she lands an entire dang farmhouse on her sister. It's not her fault, but that's the way the cookie crumbles. The Wicked Witch spends the rest of the movie throwing everything she's got at Dorothy. Winged monkeys, poppies, and even threatening messages written in the sky.

All of that intimidation winds up being pointless when Dorothy accidentally knocks a bucket of water on the witch, causing her to melt into a pile of goo. The Wizard of Oz is a children's movie, so it's not like the witch needed to go all Jigsaw on Dorothy, but this accidental defeat is genuinely embarrassing.

Freddy Krueger is the greatest creep in horror movie history. As a dream demon, he haunts the nightmares of the children of Elm Street, driving them to do anything they can to stay awake until they pass out from exhaustion and he annihilates them in ironic fashion.

Your mileage may vary on the Nightmare on Elm Street films, but they're all inventive in their own unique ways. That being said, more often than not, Krueger is dispatched in disappointing ways that are far below his stature.

In A Nightmare on Elm Street , our introduction to the character, Krueger is defeated when he's pulled into the real world and accosted with a series of Home Alone- style traps until final girl Nancy just says that he doesn't hold any power over her. This is such a disarming rebuttal to his otherworldly powers that he just disappears in a flash of light.

That's a deflating ending for such an awesome villain, but thankfully he keeps coming back for more. This is a huge bummer for the Fellowship of the Ring and their supporters, because most of them are men. There's a lot of Tolkien-speak about the Witch-King , but it all boils down to "this guy is too hard to beat; also he's, like, totally jacked, so don't mess with him - and he's a king so he's going to be surrounded by undead soldiers, so just don't engage.

Not so much. The spritely hobbit stabs him in the back with the blade of Westernesse and is reminded that "no man" can kill him. Unfortunately, the super cool robot villain doesn't have a very impressive showing when it goes mano a mano with Officer Murphy.

The ED is presented as the next wave of police protection for Detroit. It's a hulking machine with machine guns for hands and no personality to appeal to. Unfortunately, this walking, talking unstoppable security force also has the dimensions of a turtle.

If it gets flipped on its back, it's pretty much done for - or if someone just wants to blow it up, that works, too. After taking out a bunch of no-goodniks in a toxic waste dump, Murphy drives over to the Omni Consumer Products building and shoots ED with two blasts from some kind of future rifle and just blows it up.

That's it. ED isn't the main antagonist of the film, but it is strangely disappointing to see it so quickly dispatched. The lack of a robot-on-robot beatdown is the one thing keeping Robocop from being a perfect movie. Bad Guys Who Ended Badly. Villains Better Than the Hero.

Villains Who Created the Heroes. Hilariously Evil. Totally Irredeemable. Baddies with No Chill.
