Violet Evergarden Episode 5 Review

The wait is over and we are finally introduced to the most-awaited character! I was also shocked to know about the voice actor for Kureno as I was always curious about that. This episode was mostly focused on this new strange character that we might have seen in the background at one point and his odd encounter and relation with Arisa. To be honest, Kureno is one of the most attractive characters and the anime did a good job in maintaining that impression.

He is indeed very handsome. But so far, his character seems nice and innocent and a little blunt as the same time as he say things abruptly without giving it a second thought and realizing what other person would think about that.

But, we got a glimpse what where and to whom he returned and that is probably the answer of that sad smile. It was quite upsetting to see him walking in that dark hallway towards a dark room where Akito welcomed him and at the same time he though about he would never meet Arisa again. Talking about his relationship with Arisa. I found it to be a little odd. It felt rushed. There is nothing wrong if being wager to meet the person you met once but in just two meeting they seem to act like they have been known to each other for a long time.

It seemed a little weird since they know nothing about each other and were being crying over not being able to meet each other again. Two meetings are not enough for that. It was the most unexpected thing even if he has crush on her. It would have been nice to see them meeting more than just twice so that they would be able to know each other better. Apart of rushed and forced romantic relation, there is one more odd thing in this relationship and that is the age gap as Arisa is just a teenager.

Even Arisa thought about the legality of this relationship as she is just 17 and top of that she is nine years younger than him. She needs to slow down a bit and think about how much she knows about him. I like that Arisa mentioned about this whole relationship being ridiculous if he turns out to be married. She has some standards at least. But what we saw in the end, it seems what they were talking about might not be completely awful.

Since it seems like there is some serious relation between Akito and Kureno. But we have to wait a little longer for that revelation. But one thing is clear that this series is going to get chaotic with all the romantic relations in Sohma clan. While we were all delved into this new handsome character and his relation with Arisa, Tohru with her other Sohma high school friends visits to haunted house to snap us out of that intense drama going on and bring some joy in the episode.

Kyo was being Kyo with all his anger and disappointing expressions and sometimes he does makes me angry. I know that he long way to develop and we will get to see when he would actually act normal but right now he seems a little annoying being angry and rude all the time. Here Kyo never stops being rude, Hatsuharu is always the exact opposite when he is not dark. I laughed so hard when he made up a tragic story about a ghost while a sad music was being played in the background.

It was silly but hilarious at the same time. His silly story also overwhelmed the owner of the haunted house.

Hatsuharu is awesome and with this pace he will turn out to be the best character of fruits basket with his ridiculous and hilarious action that he does with that serious look on his face. He has been favorite but he seems to get better and better in the remake and specially this season.

Apart of being hilarious, his character is one of the most caring and considerate of all. Although there was nothing special that happened in this episode apart of the introduction of the new character.

This seemed a rather buildup episode that will later navigate its way to the main plot. Kureno might be a looker but there is something very dark about his character especially in the end. On Tuesday the authorized website of the anime of manga Plunderer by Suu Minazuki disclosed a new visual, song artists of the theme song, and the 1 April debut date of the subsequent half of the anime.

So, Beastar ended on an emotional note. I almost thought that Legosi would be very annoyed when he got on the stage because of Juno in order to insult her.

It could be very hilarious but we all know Legosi would never do that. Probably unintentionally. The passionate scene was interrupted by the instincts of […]. Skip to content. Anohana: An Anime of Remembrance and the Power of Community

Successfully adapting a work is no easy task although studio BONES has one of the better track records in that respect, despite some hit-and-miss anime-original endings , but having read this far into the manga, I can say with zero reservations that Director Ando and his creative team have not only produced an anime that surpasses the source material, but have done it in a way that makes it look darn near effortless. It also helps balance the episode into two interrelated A- and B-stories, rather than only loosely connected first and second halves, which gives the whole episode a better cohesion and flow. Kiki is more vocal and aggressive with a deadpan sense of humor, while Mitsuhide is more likely to openly tease but rarely gives advice because Zen places so much weight on his opinion. Good, organic character building, that. All-in-all this is a more-or-less self-contained story where nothing particularly groundbreaking happens, but we learn a little more about our cast and strengthen the bonds between them. Shirayuki and Zen continue to be honest and straightforward and basically wonderful together, and watching them inspire and learn from each other is the highlight of each week. That is exactly how anime works.

lets hope i dont get an allergic reaction to sad things like i did at the end of Angel Beats. + APairOfMittens. 5/31/ When where we supposed to cry?

Anohana Episode Five: The Breakdown

Post a Comment. Pages Home! Once again, I've procrastinated until the very last second to do something I should have done much earlier. As midterm exam week which I feared, but turned out to be Winter Break: The Sequel draws to a close tomorrow, I have found myself in the hands of extra time, so I've decided to finish this review. So far in Anohana We've met Jintan and his lady friend Mima Mena? Menma, who might or might not exist. Anyway, she's "returned" to have her wish granted by Jintan and the gang who've we had yet to meet, save one girl. Okay, starting again where we last left off, I have no idea how to explain this scene; Jintan is busying having an inner monologue with himself about what I do not remember.

I actually have this habit of picking up anime just because I want to feel warm and inspired AnoHana was one of those shows for me, although I haven't rewatched it because I feel that it won't feel the same.. This is a new habit for me. I never used to have the patience for this type of anime or book, or movie, or TV show.

Imagine a group of six childhood friends. Three girls, three boys.

A Promise of Friendship – Re: Zero S1 Episode 5 Rewatch

Whoa, not so fast there, Anjou and Yukiatsu. If pain was a disease, then a couple of the key players in the story just had major relapses. Both Anjou and Yukiatsu have an inferiority complex, each to Menma and Jinta respectively. Instead of exploring new grounds, however, the anime spins its wheels and revisit old wounds this week. To be fair, neither Anjou nor Yukiatsu ever resolved their respective issues.

Ano Hana Ep. 9: Everyone who is happy now…

However, I guess episode 5 somehow got my attention again after an underwhelming episode 4 that bomb tease was a huge disappointment. The meek-looking character made it easier to sympathize and of course, it added to the mystery as he lost his memory. That made it tougher for Ango to find out the cause and how he was murdered.

When Menma dies in an accident when the group of friends are in sixth grade, the show flashes six years into the future. He reaches out to the rest of the group and asks for help in fulfilling the wish since Menma cannot remember what it is that needs to be fulfilled. Although there is initial tension and doubt, as the friends come to think he is hallucinating, Menma reveals herself to the entire group and they begin to process and figure out what to do. The existential themes and subtext of afterlife and the impermanence of everything offers a meaningful examination of what we value, how we mourn, how we love and how we remember together. In the task of helping the spirit of Menma, the group realizes they are the key to resolving this problem.

The adaptation of Fruits Basket ran till , focusing on the life of Honda Tohru and her relationship with various members of the soma family, over a span of three seasons.

As I mentioned in my Madoka review, a well-written story requires its characters to make choices as to how they should act to set things right in their world. Those actions stem from internal needs and external desires that are established throughout the duration of the narrative, which both need to be resolved by the same action or series of actions which occur through character choice. Where Madoka was able to do this to great effect, Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai failed to identify this importance, resulting in a very jumbled up ending that greatly tarnished what would otherwise be a fantastic drama. These needs are not only psychological, but moral as well, as the actions they take in the first half of the show affect other people. When they are brought together due to the reappearance of Menma as a ghost, they hurt each other due to their own romantic selfishness, jumbled together in a very messy love polygon. As the cast tries to accomplish this task, they gradually learn a little bit more about themselves, often at the cost of painful realizations, and hard choices.

I do apologize that this update is here more than a week later than I had initially planned. This post will be a short first impression overview…. It was the basis for a film….
