With the help of the talking bluebird Beatrice Lynskey and a mysterious wandering woodsman Lloyd , the two travel through the forest in hopes of finding their way back home. Post a Comment. Wednesday, March 18, Over the Garden Wall. The story focuses on a boy named Wirt and his little brother Greg as they wander through a land called the Unknown, looking for a way home. It's hard to chose a favourite part; the charming vintage aesthetic, the adorable musical numbers, the quirky and interesting characters, and the complex, subtly-creepy and sometimes not-so-subtly creepy mystery storyline make it so much more than the average cartoon. It's really addictive, but fear not, busy people -- there are only ten short episodes, and each can stand on its own as a separate little chapter, though they should be watched in order. If you like fairytales, scary stories, history, or sassy animals, or if you just appreciate really gorgeous animation and art, this series is definitely worth watching.

Hey everyone! I just recently rewatched the series and I thought now would be a great time to do this list. So lets get into it! This is probably the one episode I didn't like.

Not the case with Over the Garden Wall. It remains original yet somehow familiar, with a robust cast and a clever plot that becomes more intriguing as the series develops. As the practice becomes less and less common, works that employ traditional animation are refreshing, and Over the Garden Wall is no exception. Its simplistic design provides viewers with a sense of nostalgia, while its subdued color palette and vignette style give the impression of a classic cartoon with modern flair.
