Jonathan Mar AKA Jonah is a child soldier with a hatred of guns and an even stronger hate of the people who sell them. Due to circumstances beyond his control, he comes under the employ of Koko Hekmatyar, an arms dealer. Over the course of his employment Jonah finds that there is more to Koko than meets the eye, and that there is more to life than metal and blood. Animated by White Fox and produced by Geneon, Jormungand certainly has a feel that is reminiscent to the very popular Black Lagoon, as Geneon produced both series they also take place in the same universe. At first glance Jormungand seems to be a Black Lagoon clone, and in many ways it is.

Just finished both Season after buying them all. This is a new Anime Classic! The Dub cast and japanese cast make this show really sparkle voice wise. The extra features are much better on this release then most funimation releases you don't get on extras stream.
I highly recommend buyin and supporting this release its worth the price for your collection. The anime has already been reviewed so go read that and see what you think but its a well crafted series done right so enjoy:. I love this series! Jormungand is one of the best anime in my opinion! After watching the first season I had to buy the second season, I hope the third season will be out soon! This is about an arms dealer going around the world selling weapons and everyone wants her dead but her team is one the the top best in its class to protecting her, in the beginning she hires a boy solider to join her and her well trained soldiers.
I wont go much into the plot, the "amazon review" does a decent enough job of that. With that said, i dont fully "agree" with the animation style, but i do appreciate it for being a bit different eyebrows.
I would recommend to any one who needs a "fix" for that rush that black lagoon gave Must Buy. There are some anime that could absolutely be There are some anime that could absolutely be made into live action movies. Although I don't believe that would do anything but diminish them. One of the best animes I've seen in the last few years. Worth checking out if you're a fan of old-school and hard-boiled stuff like Black Lagoon. Surprisingly funny and well written considering it's a show about war and arms dealing. It has a great cast of characters who take on the world with a cocky grin on their face. Also the soundtrack is excellent, especially the opening credits tune.
I don't go out of my way to Dubbed or subbed Jormungand is awesome. I don't go out of my way to buy series unless they are really worth it.

Wem die wilde Revy und ihre Kollegen gefallen haben, der kann sich hier auf ein actiongeladenes Feuerwerk verlassen, in dem auch der Humor nicht zu kurz kommt. Bei Jormungard wird nichts verharmlost. Hier sieht man Leute sterben, also seid bitte nicht schockiert. Es ist zwar alles fiktiv, aber die allgemeinen Zahlen scheinen in etwa zu stimmen.

While Koko is surrounded by elite mercenaries the job was usually kept as clean as possible, whereas Black Lagoon "shoots first and asks questions later" by comparison. Both are great series but Jormungand is for those that want a little more food for thought.

At this point, everyone knows how much I love this series overall. Yet even with those high expectations, the conclusion of the Orchestra arc still blows me away. In fact, this was probably the best episode of the series, and maybe even one of the best episodes of any series this season. Because this episode does everything right. At the same time, it makes me realize the flip side of the equation, how there are still some regions in the world that have such aspects—places where radically different views apply and situations occur daily that we can barely fathom.
Jormungand (Jörmungandr) Sightings
Searching for products Black Lagoon is in my estimation the best contemporary anime action show ever made. It is a balls to the wall, eighties style action movie in anime form, the pinnacle of its genre. As it is, I put the first disc of Jormungand into my Blu-ray player, expecting more Rock and Revy style insanity. On the other hand, a PR gamble like that might just pay off. Jormungand might actually be the next Black Lagoon. Jonah is a mess of contradictions. Among his list of hates in this world are the arms industries, and especially arms dealers. And Koko is loco, down in Acapulco, where she stayed too long. I went with The Four Tops this time.

There are a lot of good action shows in anime, but "Black Lagoon" still stands out. If you liked "Black Lagoon" and want something similar, many people will offer "Jormungand," a more recent show about a illegal arms dealer and her men. In most ways, it will satisfy you if you are looking for something to compare with "Black Lagoon. Its a shame the two shows were compared so frequently upon its initial broadcast. Koko Hekmatyar is a arms dealer.

Jormungand – Anime Review
Lord of War is what I consider to be one of the most entertaining films of the last decade, for being an incredibly stylish, yet still human look at the world of arms dealership. Jormungand could very easily be called derivative of Black Lagoon, and the comparisons are almost unavoidable if you seen both of them. The dialogue is sharp, the action is fantastic, and not a single scene bored me. The meeting scene with Kroshkin for example, was terrific. The music was a little strange throughout the episode. The song during the preview of the next episode was one of the worst thing I have ever heard.

The child soldier Jonah continues to protect Koko while she brings the boom to cities across the globe. When the international arms dealer ramps up sales, her hired guns are targeted by government agencies, warmongers, and assassins — leading to some devastating betrayals and losses. Amid all the gunfire and grenades, Koko begins to work on a secret project in South Africa: Jormungand. But when she finally reveals her master plan for the future of war, not everyone is happy with the plot. Rokuro Okajima is a small-time salaryman who is carrying documents for his company, when the ship he's traveling on is attacked by pirates.
The combat scenes here are really quite something. People working for a very large crime magnate led by what looks to be an extremely competent lieutenant should at least know mountain combat better than a child. I was curious to see how the Valmet fight would be executed. The fighting in episodes 3 and 4 was baseline piss-poor, because it involved two people shooting at about three and none of the bullets ever hit, and it suddenly ends when the enemy gets shot in the head all in the span of about two seconds. I would say that this fight was executed much better.
