A Guide to Japanese Role-Playing Games

She leaves Tobey with a sitter, and gives all of Tobey's robot remotes to her so she can be in charge of them. After Mrs. McCallister leaves, the sitter cautiously and nervously approaches Tobey's room as she is afraid of his giant robots , but finds that he is a quiet little boy that poses absolutely no danger at all—or so it seems, as "Tobey" flickers, revealing that he is actually a hologram and the real Tobey has snuck out, with an evil plan on his mind.

The robot attack Meanwhile, Becky, her father, and Bob are doing some gardening, when suddenly a robot appears and crushes some plants. Becky and Bob then go after the robot. Another robot arrives, and seems to prepare to squirt Mr. Botsford in the face, but it actually helps him water his bush. Confronting Tobey Becky and Bob, as WordGirl and Huggy, then find three robots playing jump rope in the middle of the street, causing quite a commotion.

While some other robots are participating in the long jump leading viewers to the fact that the robots are doing some sort of "robot Olympics" , WordGirl takes off their heads and confronts Tobey, who is nervous about being near WordGirl. He then sends in a whole bunch of robots to attack. Huggy tries to defeat one, but gets dizzy when the robot's head he's on spins.

WordGirl then tries to reach Tobey's mom, but gets the sitter instead, who doesn't believe a word she says, thinking that Tobey is in the room reading a book and listening to her stories. WordGirl then sends Huggy to Tobey's house. Tobey then argues with WordGirl about big words, and challenges her to a game of "Crash or Pie", which is supposed to be based on a TV game show called "Cash or Pie".

Huggy arrives at Tobey's house. The sitter comes to the front door, and upon doing so, Huggy tries to tell her about Tobey's robots. However, she has no idea what he is trying to say, and instead talks about how "Tobey" is such a good listener. Crash or Pie The game starts with the narrator introducing the contestants and explaining the rules whoever can come up with a synonym for a word that he calls first, gets a point.

WordGirl proceeds to earn two points seemingly before the game has begun; however, the narrator argues that "he decides when the game starts". Tobey becomes suspicious that she is using her super speed to buzz in first, so he launches robot attacks during rounds to stall her. WordGirl complains that he is cheating. Again at Tobey's Inside, Huggy tries to communicate the current situation to the sitter, but to no avail. While the sitter is rambling on about Tobey, Huggy tries to tell her that the Tobey she is referring to is actually a hologram, but she doesn't notice.

She takes out "the nullifier to neutralize [Tobey's] giant attacking robots", and Huggy grabs it and leaves. While chasing after him, the sitter trips over the hologram plug and pulls it out, making the Tobey hologram disappear.

She then realizes that everything Mrs. McCallister said was true, and that Tobey was fooling her the whole time. Back at the game WordGirl and Tobey are tied at six points each.

The "lightning round" starts, in which the contestants must come up with synonyms for the "lightning word" the narrator calls out in this case, enormous , until one person makes a mistake. It keeps going well until Tobey says "unsmall", which isn't a valid word, so WordGirl wins.

Tobey is upset, and attempts to launch his whole army of robots on WordGirl, but for some reason, the robots aren't moving. It is revealed that Huggy used the nullifier to shut down the robots.

Tobey takes it from him, but his mom and the sitter arrive in a car and confront him. Tobey's mom takes him away by the ear, and the narrator wraps up the episode. However, she felt that his latest stories in the Daily Rag were a little "dull," such as the one about the Second Main Bank giving out free toasters. She tells him to focus more on fifth graders, since no one outside the school probably reads the paper.

Suddenly a mysterious stranger appears with a note saying "Free Bobblecue in the parking lot. After luring everyone outside to a banquet table, the mysterious stranger robs the bank.

Becky's Diversion Becky, Scoops and Bob are relaxing peacefully on the grass, when Becky hears an alarm going off, and someone saying that the bank has been robbed. She sits up and announces this to Scoops, telling him that this would be a impressive story. Scoops questions how Becky could have heard an alarm when he heard nothing, saying she would have to have super-hearing. Realizing her mistake, she shrugs it off, and offers to race him to the bank for a free toaster.

Scoops takes her up on it, and starts running toward the bank, giving Becky and Bob time to change into WordGirl and Captain Huggy Face. The security guard shows her the note that the stranger gave him, and explain how he tricked them by throwing a barbecue. Scoops asks her who she thinks did it, and she tells him she has some ideas. He asks her where she thinks he will strike next, but she tells him she has no idea.

Meanwhile, Huggy takes the opportunity to grab some meat from the table outside. She comes through the door and pays for the diamond in cash "pocket change" , going on about how filthy rich she is. Behind her, the stranger comes through the door and announces free barbeque, and they all scramble for the door. An Epiphany Scoops, Becky and Bob walk together down the sidewalk, as Scoops reads through his article about the bank robbery from the day before. Some of his comments were "employees eat the evidence", and "WordGirl and Captain Huggy Face clueless!

A few seconds later, the alarm inside the jewelry store goes off. Becky and Bob slip away and change, then arrive back at the jewelry store to meet the perpetrator: The Butcher, who is holding the Hoboken diamond. Scoops then tells WordGirl that this is the second time he wrote a story that turned into a crime scene.

When she asks him what he means, he explains that he had written about the Hoboken diamond in the Daily Rag. WordGirl realizes the connection, and tells Scoops to write another story for the next issue. The Vegetarians The next day, the Butcher is sitting in his lair with the diamond on his lap, when the Daily Rag arrives. He quickly shows up at the restaurant with the same scheme, telling the patrons that there is free barbecue outside.

It turns out that tofu blocks his power, because he is not able to resume his attack. Huggy grabs a tray of the tofu and keeps pummeling him with them, while Scoops contemplates his next story WordGirl must find out Chuck's secret password to stop the crushing machine before time runs out. Meanwhile, Captain Huggy Face dashes off to District Attorney Botsford's office to find Chuck's file in order to find a clue about the password.

He is a slick businessman up to no good, introducing his newest product: "The Thing", a white, cube-like object that he claims serves many different purposes, but actually doesn't do anything at all. WordGirl for not cleaning her messy room, so he grounds her until she cleans everything up, and Captain Huggyface is put in charge of battling the Butcher, who is attempting an all-out crime-spree.

When Dr. Two-Brains finds that he is unable to control them and stop them from taking over the city, WordGirl offers to help him. But can she depend on the villainous Dr. The Birthday Girl, who enlarges and turns green whenever she doesn't get her way. However, in their quest to find Huggy and his captor, they seem to be exaggerating to a lot of busy people.

Becky must investigate as WordGirl in order to stop Granny May from stealing the Mazo-Racer a solid gold-plated race car which accelerates from 0 to miles per hour. Will WordGirl be able to take it down? They come up with a new mythical animal, which turned out to be a winged unicorn. They couldn't decide whether it should be called either a "Unisus" or a "Pegacorn", so they compromised and decided on "PegaUnisusCorn" Meanwhile, it looks like Chuck is finally abandoning his life of crime when he takes up a job selling pencils.

However, when he discovers that his new boss detests sandwiches, Chuck holds him hostage until he tries a sandwich. That familiarity in those demographics can be highly enjoyable, especially when you get a writer who knows how to tweak the template just enough to honor it while still reimagining it. One of those unexpected twists has been to turn much of the focus of the final arc to Sagawa, even making him the central point-of-view character for much of the narrative. Given what we know of most cult religions Japan is all too familiar with them can we really judge a man harshly for dedicating himself to destroying one from the inside? The problem for Juri, of course, is twofold. First, Sagawa represents a practical problem, an existential threat to her family. Sagawa is desperate and resourceful in clinging to life, however considering how little he values it for others , and has one more trick up his sleeve.
