40 Greatest Animated Movies Ever

My sister and I hoarded plastic dinosaurs like nothing else. We owned the first 10 movies and watched the TV series. I stan Littlefoot. It's my go-to feel-good film when I'm sad. Although I can quote most of the lines by heart, I truly appreciate and love El Dorado every time I watch it.

Not to mention the music by Tim Rice and Elton John is phenomenal! My sister and I were obsessed with this movie as kids and watched it constantly. Every time I finish watching, I'm completely speechless; everything about it is so beautifully done. I can't remember the last time I was this enchanted by an animated film.

The songs are incredible, and the story just feels magical. I'm 24 now, and my nan still talks about how dramatically I did the ending. It's cheesy, funny, and ridiculous. We lost touch in high school, and I haven't spoken to them in years, but I still think of them every time I watch it. My sisters absolutely hated it. I still love it, tbh.

I mean, it wasn't as dramatic as what happened with Fievel, but I think as a 5-year-old, I was just able to relate to that little mouse. That and I fell in love with the song 'Somewhere Out There. The unconventional family dynamic between Manny, Sid, and Diego was amazing.

And, of course, I was always rooting for Scrat to save his acorn! I basically watched this movie nonstop as a kid! I'd forgotten how much I loved it. It teaches the value of friendship as well as overcoming obstacles and expectations from people. I saw it for the first time when I was 13, and after that, I probably watched it at least once a week for over a year!

Bringing all of our favorite magical beings to work together was a unique idea, and the voice cast is stellar! Plus, it made me realize that I can choose what I want to be in life and don't have to go along with what I think my life should be. Even today, it's a Christmas classic that I watch every year along with The Nutcracker , which uses the original music from the ballet as a soundtrack.

Just perfection. She was so feisty and not afraid of anything. I adored the concept of a magical ring being a 'string' to lead you to where you need to be, and I loved the sass that Princess Irene gave the goblins. She passed away last year, and I've been desperately trying to find it again to relive that time with her. It's one of my fondest memories. Plus, the characters and voice actors are awesome.

Batty Koda will always be one of my fave movie sidekicks. I watched it so much as a kid. I recently found out it was on Netflix and was so excited. Just rewatched it, and it's still great! I actually got one of the songs stuck in my head earlier today and spent a good half hour searching for the VHS tape so I could watch the movie, and, yep, just as great as I remembered.
