This is review number two hundred and thirty. I think it is awesome but I do know it is pretty original. Tomoko Kuroki is a hardcore loner. She likes to spend her time alone and escapes to the internet or her games to find comfort in her everyday life.

It also goes by the nickname WataMote. I just love how the show strays from the usual setting where the characters are engaged in positive cliche scenarios and then live happily ever after, as WataMote has a more believable story by having the main character constantly get bashed and stepped upon in the simplest instances. But we still try, until time and time again, we overcome it. Watching this anime puts us in the shoes of Tomoko, and would show us that we can get through our social inhibitions even if put in the most extreme situations. Because things are only as they are because we let them. Despite the serious undertone, WataMote is explicated in a light and comical way due to how awkward and embarrassing things can get for Tomoko. Bye-bye bad memories from middle school. This phenomenon puzzles her to no end.

Japan has made it extremely clear to us that the most important phase of any human being, robot, alien, dimensional trespasser, Espers, gangsters, and basically any living being is the process of a year institution known as highschool. Apparently in Japanese highschools you can either have the most epic fighting contests, extremely passionate love stories, and just about anything in between. She is faced with the legendary Highschool Debut where even losers in their middleschool years can start anew. I had a humongous group of friends from elementary school to middle school and I made the switch in highschool. Well it goes as thus: Anyone worse than me is a noob, anyone better has no life. Tomoko looks down on legit, everybody but ironically wants to become and wants to be accepted and praised by the crowd she loathes.

Written by Nico Tanigawa the first volume was released early Usually, because of the geography of our little Island, often the first contact we have with a Manga is accidental, or through a friend who makes it their mission in life to know about this stuff first. How many of us would never know about a Manga if not for the Anime catching our eye? This is one such case. So to be brief, the Manga is definitely worth a look into if you can get a hold of it. As for the Anime? How do I say enough about Watamote? It centres around fifteen year old Tomoko Kuroki; a socially inept teen trying to figure out how that summer she spent working on her social skills in Otome, a sims-like video game, have left her unprepared for real life.
Watamote Anime Review: When Awkward Meets Humor
Many times before I watch an anime, I'll go look up a few images online to see if I like the cast, sometimes it's because of how badass, cool , sexy or cute a protagonist looks. This time tough, it wasn't any of the four factors I stated. Tomoko doesn't look cool, she doesn't look badass, sure as hell doesn't look sexy, and I'm sure she's not quite there as well when we take the definition of "cute" into play. I was immediately drawn into this, but if this isn't enough to get you interested about this messed up girl, then I don't know what is.
At the tender age of 15, Kuroki Tomoko has already dated dozens and dozens of boys and she's easily the most popular girl around! The only problem is that absolutely none of that is real, and her perfect world exists only via dating games and romance shows. In fact, the sad truth is that she gets tongue tied just talking to people, and throughout middle school she's only had one actual friend. All of which makes Kuroki's entrance into the social pressure cooker of high school a new and special kind of hell.
Heyo, its ya boi Zack back at it again with another review. Today I'll be reviewing Watamote. Let's get this thing started. Ok so let's start off with talking about the plot. The main point behind WataMote is a girl trying to get more popular in high school. The main character Tomoko thinks she has the high school life in her hands because she has played so many high school romance games.
High school. That magical location from which anime characters live their exciting daily lives or, owing to some outside force, fight secretly to save the world from danger. We all know about the charming transfer student, the badass fighter who is actually surprisingly good at tests, heck even the silent types get some serious screentime. To skilfully navigate through the hormonal jungle that serves as a preamble to adulthood.
