Like Kermit once sang, "It's not easy being green. These green cartoon characters have had great success on TV, whether they're starring in their own series or just showing up in a handful of episodes. This list isn't strict, meaning the character's skin doesn't have to be green. I've also included characters, like the Green Lantern, whose overall appearance is green.

150 Cartoon Dog Names for Your Goofy Sidekick

Cartoon wackiness has taken on many forms. This could stretch arms, pulling things from mid-air, and surviving great falls with only a few broken teeth and a bruise. However, an often neglected art form within cartoons, especially within the modern age of animated programming , is the art of cartoon violence.

Years ago, pioneers like Daffy Duck or Tom and Jerry were showing children how destructive cartoon characters could really be. And while this would unfortunately not corrupt as many kids as censors thought, it would inspire different generations of cartoons that would take physics breaking feats of strength and colorful caricatures to create even more destructive scenarios. This list will be going over some of the most chaotic and destructive, as it runs down a few of the most destructive cartoon characters ever.

The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy is a series that should still surprise people to this day. How in the world did a series about the Grim Reaper and his demons from hell ever make it unto children's programming?

While there wasn't any vulgar language or nudity in the series, it more than satisfied expectations with how wild and destructive its adventures could be, and a lot of that chaos was manufactured by the series' resident buffoon, Billy.

On his own, Billy could already destroy his household in fantastical ways and annoy people to pure madness. When he became friends with the Grim Reaper, this created new opportunities, such as summoning underworld beasts, ripping holes in reality, and turning a section of the world into a rubber hose cartoon.

Zim is a quintessential alien invader. He's constantly plotting to overthrow humanity and often uses and creates horrifying inventions to wreak havoc on society. It's just hilariously unfortunate that even his own race can get caught in the crossfire. Zim was once banished by the Irkin Race for ruining their first invasion plan by personally going on a giant robot rampage within their home turf. When he would unilaterally quit banishment, he'd venture to Earth and do more-or-less the same, such as harvesting children's organs, hijacking the entire planet, and taking over Christmas to enslave the human race.

Rick Sanchez is far from being a superhero. His wide array of gadgets and inventions are used to either further his own agenda or were just built out of pure boredom. In either case, the entire galaxy has to put up with it. He was able to simultaneously take down the Galactic Federation and the Council of Ricks and their Citadel. He accidentally turned everyone in his dimension into "Cronenberg" mutants and had to abandon the entire dimension in the process.

In Season 4, just to prove how stupid heist movies are, he even created a robot that would create increasingly convoluted heists that included destroying and stealing entire planets. He's a scientist whose main discovery is how terrible he really is. While his lore may vary between incarnations, every comic, cartoon, and movie agrees that The Mask is a maelstrom of cartoon violence.

When an unsuspecting citizen dawns the infamous green mask, they turn into the titular character and use the wonders of rubber hose animation to cause some chaos in the world. The Mask is constantly busting out massive guns, destructive explosives, and even huge mallet or two to teach children what cartoon violence really is. Chowder must've been a strange series to pitch. It's a series set in a culinary world whose central protagonists are hard-working caterers.

However, it more than makes up its cartoon wackiness quota with its titular, main character, Chowder, the series' chubby bull in the china shop. With his gluttonous mouth, Chowder has cost Mun Daal's Catering tons upon tons of food. However, with his own impulsive nature and lack of any real cooking skill, Chowder has also been able to wreak some havoc with a few things besides his appetite, like destroying sections of Marzipan city with a large gum wad, uncontrollably breathing flames, and turning everything that he touches into mold which is always great to have within a catering company.

Experiment is, by design, a destructive, alien beast. Embedded into his DNA is enough strength to overthrow spaceships, the flexibility to reach the unreachable, the intelligence to destroy with incredible precision, and the invulnerability to survive it all. While he quickly changed his ways after joining Lilo and her family, Stitch still shows his mischievous side every now and then, such as with the collateral damage of his hunt for different aliens or his various pranks with Lilo.

Ever since Of Mice and Men made people fall in love with Lennie, the bumbling yet incredibly strong sidekick has become a strong mainstay for street smart groups in media. Ed is both the pinnacle of this gimmick as well as cartoon violence as a whole. Without even trying, Ed and his brutish strength can cause plenty of destruction just by walking When he panics, he tends to grab the nearest lamppost or mailbox and smash what's scaring him.

When he's angry, he can chew a slide like bubble gum or smack someone into the stratosphere. He's a definitive buffoon that would be terrifying if he wasn't so lovable. Rigby is the living embodiment of what every slacker dreams of being and what every other person fears a slacker could do.

When someone's friend typically messes up, it just means having to clean up a kitchen or something. When Rigby messes up, the park gang either has to fight a demon or save time itself. His laziness and arrogance have destroyed the park house in multiple situations, gotten everyone hunted down by some spirit, alien, or beast, and nearly gotten himself and Mordecai fired for bare negligence.

He is a moving ball of destruction that everyone should be surprised is still employed. The Warners are literally so destructive that the Warner Brothers crew needed to trap them in their iconic water tower like how wizards often need to trap demons in swords or medallions.

They are a chaotic force born as the apex of cartoon silliness who, at their base, can annoy people into madness. Without that, they are often bouncing from the walls and destroying everything they touch, namely the one thing that the nearest person doesn't want ruined. When someone tries to take vengeance on them or just contain them, they are subjected to an entire maelstrom of random scene changes and pop culture references that were way too obscure for their child audience.

But they are the Warners. Who's going to stop them? Timmy Turner started out in the series as a spunky, All-American kid who used his fairy godparents to wish for everything that a kid could ever want or go on high concept adventures.

However, as the series went on, and he constantly refused to learn any lessons, it became a running gag that Timmy was both a selfish person and a terrifying force for all of fairy kind. He's constantly creating new rules for the fairy rule book when he wishes for stupid things, like turning his world into a Find It book, freeing the literal evil version of fairies, and the Super Toilet.

He's a selfish, arrogant, ten-year-old child who somehow got power over reality itself. Who thought that this was a good use of unlimited power? The 25 Most Iconic Character Descriptions in Film History

This leads us to the main ingredient of a movie and why we watch movies: the characters. Identifying with the characters is a common reason people love a certain movie. The viewer wants to see the main character protagonist and the supporting characters develop like people do in real life. In order for the movie to express this development, the character has to show growth in moral and ethical qualities, such as integrity, honesty, or courage, and by having a well-developed background, making the character three-dimensional. Since a movie is a visual experience, the sociology and psychology, along with the physiology, are subtly portrayed visually by the physical movements and the dialogue the character displays in any particular situation. Physiology is included in this portrayal because many movie characters are self-conscious of their physical appearances, like Cyrano de Bergerac who was self-conscious of his nose. The physical actions and the dialogue of the character change from the exposition and conflict as he or she goes through the rising and falling action of the movie.
