Best Episodes Of Clannad: After Story
It would air in the fall of that year and spawn many fans both domestically in Japan as well as internationally. It has been hailed as one of the best anime series of all time by fans and is often cited as how dramatic shows can be. Due to the success of the format, the original series was released on Blu-Ray by Pony Canyon in April Now the sequel has finally been released to complete the KeyAni trilogy on Blu-Ray.
As with the first box, the set comes in a newly illustrated binder inside a patterned hardcovered box. Each disc contains images of two major characters for the episodes on that disc Sanae and Mei, Misae and Yukine, Tomoya and Nagisa, Ushio and Fuko, and the Fujibayashi sisters on the yellow rapeseed background.
Included with the box is a special -page booklet that has the translated opening and ending credits for each episode from Sentai Filmworks. I imagine that Pony Canyon did not reference the episodes with the text. Each disc has 5 episodes on it with the fifth disc containing all of the bonus image features. Here are the episodes ordered by disc with some images to go along:. The menu art is one of the limited edition covers that were used for the DVDs.
In order by disc, they are volumes 1, 3,6,7,and 8 respectively. The remaining cover images are found on disc five with the illustration gallery in a smaller form. This is one of my top 5 shows both personally and technically. Even in death, Nagisa is still present so much both in spirit and in story.
In both the original series as well as After Story , Clannad has a great mixture of drama and comedic moments. Visually, this set ranges from very good to jaw-dropping amazing. While the character models have been altered, the animation quality from the first series has been maintained. Seeing the opening animation in true high definition is an absolute joy and helped me find details that I never knew were in the opening before such as the yellow petals compared to pink for the first season.
As usual, the audio has been remastered into a 5. The original 2. The few instances of Kotomi and her violin serve very well as a true test of a surround sound system in my opinion. As with their release of Kanon and the first set, both Japanese and English subtitles are included. The English subtitles come from the sub-only release by Sentai Filmworks and look well for the most part.
Several of these images would look wonderful in a poster hint hint RightStuf. To say this box is pricy would be a vast understatement. However, if you can afford it, this is an absolute joy to view and I wished every fan could see it on their own systems. Because it looks absol-fucking-lutely brilliant. One of the best shows ever and just like you, one of my favorites both personally and technically. My total including shipping from Amazon Japan was over 44, yen.
Feel free to convert that to any money standard. It looks amazing and I love showing how beautiful anime can be at times. It was worth the price for me especially for the textless OP alone. I bought my Clannad boxsets from cdjapan which is substantially more expensive. You twitted that the subtitles on After Story have quite a few more errors as well, what type of errors? At least EMS knows where to send a package to in routing.

It was shown for the first time on Japanese television beginning October 4, and was later supplemented by an additional episode that was published as OVA. It was continued in the series Clannad After Story whose plot reproduced the second plot section of the game. The plot is largely comparable to that of the computer game, although not all of the storylines of the game have been recorded, or in some cases have only been touched upon in order to be able to tell a coherent story. The focus of the plot is the student Tomoya Okazaki and his experiences during his senior year at high school. Which anime series should you watch?
Since episode 24 was nothing more then a recap, I decided to fuse their episode reviews. This extra episode was, imho, rather hit or miss. I mean in this episode, Tomoya was a complete bum like he used to be, and Nagisa was hopelessly shy, yet now, we see them as a very open and loving couple that encourage their daughter. The recap episode was, well, a recap. Narrated by Tomoya while apparently talking to Ushio, it actually did a pretty good job of reviewing the events and showing how much this show developed.
Clannad: After Story
Tomoya Okazaki is an ordinary high school senior who doesn't take his studies seriously. Always late for class, he's seen as a delinquent by the rest of his classmates, who are busily preparing for their college entrance examinations. He hates his life and the whole town, and the closest thing he has to a real friend is fellow delinquent Youhei Sunohara, who just barely manages to rise to the level of Butt-Monkey at the best of times. Tomoya is thoroughly miserable. Then one day, while walking to school, he bumps into Nagisa Furukawa, a shy girl whose only friends at the school have already graduated. Whenever Tomoya sees her around school, she's alone; her classmates scarcely notice she exists, and no one has any interest in befriending her. No one, that is, except Tomoya, who without even realizing it finds himself taking her under his wing. As he sets out to help her reestablish the school's drama club, he finds himself connecting or, as it often turns out, reconnecting with several other girls from the school.
