Is wotakoi anime good

When it comes to the best of romance, a good number of anime series should be on your list. From Fruits Basket to Skip Beat and more, a ton of iconic romances have bloomed from the industry. As of late, Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku has taken over the genre, and it seems like the story is far from over. The update came recently from the manga itself. Wotakoi came to an end this week after years in print, so fans were sad to see their favorite couple finish their story. However, the manga's editorial team confirmed a spin-off is on the way, but details are being kept quiet until a later date.

These are working adults with a realistic adult relationship. After years of harem shows, it is refreshing to see something so different. The art, writing, and the direction of the whole is top-notch. Helpful Report abuse. Tallon Reviewed in the United States on May 20, Normally when it comes to anime, manga, or light novels, anything with an otaku character becomes unbearable hyper self-insert wankery made entirely to sell to that demographic and nobody else. But Wotakoi is no such thing, in fact it's a really genuine look at 2 couples and the way their relationships are due to all 4 of them being otaku.

Instead of being pandery it simply uses that character trait in everyone as a way to make interesting relationships and very fun comedy rather than the same jokes otaku comedies usually use, because again they focus on self-inserting you. At the same time it looks at the more serious elements of relationships overall, let alone ones that people like this have, and there are some really touching and sad moments.

It's sweet and most often it's really hilarious. Moonhawk Reviewed in the United States on April 16, Glad I ran into this, something that will give you a smile but nothing earth shaking. Good animation quality, likeable characters. April Reviewed in the United States on March 18, It's really great to see a good josei for adult women anime, for a change.

More of this, please! All four main characters are hilarious and relatable. The bonus is the cameo appearances of your favorite anime and manga for me it was the YuruYuri Vol Ooooo this is cute, and it feels a bit like my life in places! I usually don't get to run into slice of life anime that feel so The characters are all interesting and the animation is well done.

I enjoyed the game menu bits in Episode 2 especially. I can't wait for more episodes! This was recommended on Kotaku as one of the best new spring anime.

It's definitely worth a watch. Allison Reviewed in the United States on April 20, I love this series! I started reading the manga like two years ago and got so excited when they announced they were making an anime.

Overall it seems like a good adaptation. The animation is good. I love the character designs. It is one of my favorite openings of the season. The only complaint I have with the adaptation is that it is not as funny as the manga. The manga is hilarious but I do not see myself laughing so much at the anime than the manga, which is a shame.

I still give it 5 stars because I do hold this show close to my heart. It is a fun show to wind down to, especially if you identify with one of the characters like I do. Danny Reviewed in the United States on June 1, This is an amazing anime because I can relate so many of the scenes that occur to my everyday life. The story is not what drives the anime in my opinion, but the characters. I love the dynamic between all of the characters. All of the activities that are shown in the anime are not interesting themselves, but the characters are just so much fun to watch that they can make any menial task fun and entertaining.

If you like character driven anime first one that comes to mind is Hyouka , comedies with a touch of romance, or are an otaku yourself, you will definitely enjoy this anime and I think you should give it a shot. I recently visited family in Japan and picked up the first two volumes of the manga. And to be honest, I'm enjoying the manga just as much as the anime! So much more insight into the characters!

After Gamers! When I saw the premise of Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii WotaKoi: Love is Hard for Otaku , I raised an eyebrow and decided to give it a shot because maybe… just maybe… it would give me exactly what I was looking for. Did WotaKoi give me that experience? Did it meet my expectations? The story centers around a young woman named Narumi.

WotaKoi is a great slice-of-life romantic comedy that seamlessly blends in gaming, anime, and otaku culture. The relatable characters each had.

Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii

is wotakoi anime good

Wotakoi is a remarkably chill slice-of-life rom-com anime. It makes for a nice, refreshing bowl of vanilla bean ice cream in anime form. No blushing while holding hands or anything like that. That said, the show is also oddly chaste.

I love a good romantic comedy, especially one with otaku culture elements.

Where can I watch Wotakoi anime?

People with a deep love for the series bought the final volume several times from different stores to get all the different cover designs. It is a heartfelt romance with three couples at different stages of their relationships, delving into the stigma against otaku in Japanese culture. However, there are questions as to whether Votakoi may maintain its status as one of the best romance series of the decade. The reason for this, oddly enough, is for one reason it is in the present: its comedy. Traditional writing warns creators against using abundant pop culture references in their works as this story dates back. So will this element, which readers find appealing today, become a hindrance as the years go by?

Dennis D. McDonald ddmcd ddmcd. Review by Dennis D. I've been watching the series "Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku. The series follows a group of young Japanese office workers in their daily relationships. Despite leaning in the direction of budding romance the series never seems to fall headlong into romantic cliche.

Or EA. Oh wait, there is no difference. Anyone who accuses me of joining in is obviously mistaking me for one of the many close-minded elitists who think that paying attention to who made an anime over what the anime actually contains is a mindset we need to support. I hated A-1 way before Digibro declared them to be the McDonalds of anime, and even ignoring Sword Art Online , what do you want me to praise from them?

They are romantic comedies about adult otakus falling in love. While in Net-Juu its mainly about game otakus, while in WnKwM you'll find a fujoshi, a cosplayer, a gamer. If you enjoy one, you'll probably enjoy the other. Both of them have an otaku female character, who gets close to a male character of similar interests. The idea of love is lightly touched in each of the two - they are more focused on the otaku lifestyle and interests instead. I get a similar feeling when i watch wotaku, how the characters act, the humor, the music, the artstyle.

Wotakoi: Love is Hard for an Otaku is probably going to end up being my favorite show of the season. I need to wait for it to finish, but the love story between two hardcore otaku who reunite at work after losing touch after middle school is great!

When Narumi, an office lady who hides the fact that she is a yaoi fangirl, changes jobs, she is reunited with Hirotaka, her childhood friend who is attractive and skilled but is a hardcore gaming otaku. They decide to start dating for now, but being otaku, both of them are awkward so a serious romantic relationship is rather difficult for them A-1 Pictures lapintrack. I'd better to playing console games like PlayStation or Xbox because play games in console is better than mobile games. It was just so fun and cute, barely any drama, just a laid back slice of life romance. I know otaku looks similar with nerd or the actually is an introvert personality was hard to have a crush or couples. You will definitely feels relieved when you're found a person or love interest have the same passion.

She begins work at a new company and meets her old childhood friend Nifuji Hirotaka. Hirotaka is handsome and good at his job, but he is also an otaku. After work, Narumi and Hirotaka talk about their otaku interests. Hirotaka asks her if they can date, telling her it will be nice.
