The mecha genre is one of my favorites to watch, because the themes and issues they tackle are generally more significant in nature and they really highlight the plight of the characters and the obstacles they have to overcome. They have battles that are fun to watch, and those that are done well, feature some of the best character development and stories in all of anime. While I don't think mecha is a genre for everyone, I do think there's a mecha anime out there that every person will enjoy. There's a lot of variation within the genre with series that delve more into the political side while others lean more into the psychological or sci-fi genres, so I truly feel like it has something for everyone no matter what you are a fan of.
