The film earlier had an initial release in theaters in Argentina on September 11, , and an exclusive theatrical release at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood for two weeks beginning September 19, That isn't surprising because Disney's direct-to-video maker of sorts, DisneyToon is notorious for making sequels that are mediocre or inferior to their original movies' source material, usually resulting as the former two, pretty bad, or in rare occactions, good.
The Winnie-The Pooh movies are still charming, but I have to talk about the Tinker Bell movies for the sake of nostalgia. The movie underwent many script changes under many different directors during its production. After Sharon Morrill was ousted from her position at DisneyToon, the movie was delayed from and almost everything was scrapped. I mean nothing can define - better than Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, and the Jewelpet franchise that started on the same time as the second Tinker Bell movie. Also, the version that we got would have gone a few hundred million over the budget, so there was no other choice. With that said, let's bring in the pixie dust, shall we? The movie tells the fairy's story from her creation after a baby's first laugh as in the Peter Pan book by J.
Barrie to her first adventure. If you wanna know how it works, here me out When that aforementioned baby laughs, that laugh goes to Neverland, and then suddenly, a fairy is born, only she's not born like a little baby, she's born fully grown. Don't ask me why it does that but its starting to get interesting. After landing in Pixie Hollow, Tink finds that she's a tinker fairy -- one who builds and fixes things for the other fairies to use as they change the seasons.
When she finds out that this means she doesn't get to go to the real world with the other fairies, she decides she doesn't want to be a tinker and tries to find a new talent, with disastrous results. Only by embracing her original talent can springtime be saved.
As you can see, I was liked this movie back when it first came out on DVD and there are many things to like about this adorable kids flick that I still like to this day. First off, its the theme of compromise. Tinker Bell eventually comes to terms with her gifts, but she also pushes really hard to get what she wants, and what she feels is rightfully hers. Yeah, I might think that the story seems too mild and simpler for older audiences looking back at it, but that's how I enjoyed Disney movies when I was young.
I didn't seem to mind it and just admire for what it is. Also, Tinkerbell's feisty personality is obviously toned down for younger audiences and we don't see that until at the end when she confronts Vidia again, and even some point in The Lost Treasure, and the Great Fairy Rescue. Moving on. The movie also does a lovely job of introducing the world of Pixie Hollow with some lush animation and a dreamy, Celtic-infused soundtrack featuring Loreena McKennitt.
Seriously, the creators of the movie put a lot of effort into this movie and I love it how it turned out visually. They want it to look whimsical, they want it to feel like these characters are alive, and for the most part, they do a good job. They made the animals look realistic and yet more on the cartoony side you see on the usual Disney movies you see from hand-drawn films. Also, each talent that they give to the fairies is interesting as their little job.
There are the light fairies that can take light from the sun so they can let the fireflies have their bottoms glow, water fairies that can carry dewdrops on a spiders web, animal fairies who can talk to animals and basically be their trainer for the specific species, garden fairies who can grow plants, and even help them bloom them for spring.
There's even fast flying fairies who are associated with wind of all things, and of course, tinker fairies are basically inventors or engineers, in which Tink is one of them. That's pretty nice. I also enjoyed that they included new characters that are exclusive to the movies like Iridessa, Vidia, Fawn, Silvermist, Rosetta, Queen Clarion,the Fairy Ministers that are in charge of the 4 seasons respectively, Clank and Bobble, Fairy Mary, Terence and many more to find in this.
Speaking of which, Tinker Bell's friends who I've mentioned before , are voiced pretty well and I know that the voice acting is pretty well too. This is movie 1 after all, just saying, and also for Disney to put merchendice and all but who cares about the latter? That is never going to leave my head anytime soon. Also, I liked the ending where there's a very young Wendy, which I'm not gonna spoil it too much, but its still cute.
In fact, that's what the whole movie is: A adorable movie that Disney made to start a franchise with Tink. And holy crap, it saved from the disaster!
I'm not making this up! Take that, Land Before Time in terms of quality! In other words, if you want something that's so wholesome, innocent, and overall funtime with the family, this is a nice choice to have.

Well done. I feel tempted to draw another picture of Tinkerbell, but that will be for another time.

Tinker Bell is a movie starring the titular fairy from Disney's Peter Pan movies and their then-recently-launched Disney Fairies book series, and this movie itself also spawned no less than 5 sequels. While the completed movie was about Tinker Bell arriving in Pixie Hollow and the immediate time afterward, the original version that was under production was much different in terms of its plot. One particular draft sometimes referred to as "Tinker Bell And The Ring Of Belief" in certain promotional materials , which received a trailer and various tie-in stories on the Disney Fairies website, was about human children that believed in fairies being brought to Pixie Hollow, where they would attend fairy school. Attending fairy school was mandatory for fairies, as a fairy had to complete fairy school to be allowed to use pixie dust.

Sharon Morrill , president of DisneyToon, was ousted as Lasseter and Catmull issued a mandate to produce fewer and higher-quality films tied to Disney consumer products, rather than endless sequels to theatrical releases. The first Tinker Bell movie was already in the works when Lasseter arrived, but he was so unhappy with what he saw that he scrapped that version.
Tinker Bell is a direct-to-video computer-animated fantasy film series produced by DisneyToon Studios as part of the Disney Fairies franchise. Tinker Bell Mae Whitman is born from the first laugh of a baby, and is brought by the winds to Pixie Hollow which is part of the island of Never Land.
