Parents need to know that Care Bears: Welcome to Care-a-Lot encourages preschoolers to explore their feelings through fun adventures with the colorful, cuddly characters.
CGI animation brings to life Tenderheart Bear and his circle of classic friends, each of whom embodies a different emotion and brings unique qualities to the group. Their adventures introduce tots to the value of cooperation, curiosity, sharing, problem solving, and being a good friend. As with previous incarnations of these much-loved characters, an extensive product line of toys and accessories is inevitable, so little fans may yearn for tie-in products.
Set in the bears' home in the clouds, the series centers on the characters' interactions and adventures and shows how they solve the problems that arise along the way. Often they're joined by a child who's magically transported to Care-a-Lot by Tenderheart, who senses the youngster's need to learn the day's lesson firsthand.
Modern CGI does wonders for this colorful bunch, giving new dimension and detail to the characters and making the special powers of their trademark Belly Badges that much more magical in kids' eyes.
Of course, the downside is that when the stuffed replicas of these adorable characters hit store shelves, your tots are bound to be even more drawn to their favorites. But lovable, cuddly, and ever engaging, the Care Bears have delighted kids for decades by personifying the myriad of feelings familiar to preschoolers.
Whether you're cheery, adventurous, or even a little grumpy on any given day, there's a bear who knows what you're going through, and watching how the circle of friends sees past their differences to embrace one another has positive social messages for tots. A likely fan favorite among the Welcome to Care-a-Lot cast is newcomer Wonderheart Bear, whose youthful curiosity gives a voice to all kinds of preschool-age questions.

This article originally ran on Den of Geek UK. Having said that, I was about five. The Care Bears, if this franchise passed you by, are a group of bears made out of cake or something. They go round claiming to care about everyone, even people who are really show at cashpoints. There was a TV series too, but the plot of that mostly consisted of a missing birthday cake. I loved the Care Bears when I was little, and would regularly park myself in front of the TV to watch this movie on video. And it never failed to creep me out.

I know, that sounds so pretentious, but I really do mean it when I say that this show is something incredibly special. Richie is an asshole, but he, more often than not, faces the direct consequences of his behavior such as literally, albeit accidentally, getting stabbed in the ass. Working in a kitchen is hellish. But the show neither glamorizes nor condemns this line of work—it simply shows the reality of it. Things eventually get to the point where Carmy realizes his current trajectory is untenable.

That was the strain this week with my three-year-old daughter who, after contracting a nasty case of strep, has been absolutely smitten with the Care Bears and Cousins show on Netflix. Well, it was full of something that, even at a tender age perhaps a tender-hearted age, too , I absolutely adored: mythology. It was the origin story, not only of the Care Bears, but the cousins, too. I could even argue it was the Empire Strike Back of the franchise. Remember the My Little Pony: the Movie and the unstoppable purple ooze? Talk about nightmare material.
Care Bears: Adventures in Care-a-Lot
Remember back in the day when television would just take summers off? Valerie Anne recapped a yuletide-filled episode of Motherland: Fort Salem and pondered whether to give plaudits to The Boys for narrowly avoiding the Bury Your Gays trope. Meanwhile, Natalie gave us a double dose of Good Trouble recaps: one that had us worried about a break-up , the other that had us clamoring for a reunion. Just saying — Natalie. Maybe she was a queer fever dream we all had? This week, Mercedes delivers groceries to a hungover Shelle, only to be subjected to her scorn. Mercedes is immediately on high alert — worried that Farrah has shared the details of their tryst — but she plays it coy, insisting that she only wants to spend time with Coach.

We asked some experts if the show did the city right. How do we save money? The sweet moments, where cooks get props from Carmy or sous chef Sydney played by Ayo Edebiri for hitting the right flavor profile, also rang true, Kim said.
The conversation has been had, and had, and had all over again, and yet every year we get our serving of both real and fictional murdered girls for us to consume. Whether it does that effectively is another question entirely, but hey - there was an effort made. That is, until a beautiful FBI agent Sepideh Moafi comes in and offers him a chance at a commuted sentence - so long as he is able to befriend suspected serial killer Larry Hall Paul Walter Hauser in prison and find out the locations of the bodies of his victims. The first 4 episodes of the show are fairly middling, careening through the story with just about as much care for what happens as I had - little to none.
