People seem to think that Shiki isn't as strong because of the fact that Luffy beat him, these people need to realize something, he was massively weakened.
He had a steering wheel jammed into his head, he is likely a massively different person than he used to be mentally. This is evidenced by his crew choice and everything he pretty much did: After Eating, Grand Line! This is a terrible reason, he was fine phsyically and mentally but he was also out of combat for like 20 years so he wasn't at his best just like pretty much all other old people in this story.

Somebody like Doffy would own him. Just because he tried to fight Roger doesn't mean he was as strong as him. Nobody is going to go from Yonkou level to losing to pre-skip Luffy. He went from a very serious pirate. He wasn't a cripple, but his health both mentally and physically were trashed. You need to realize that you can't just walk in and go "no" just because people know who you are, nothing you said brought anything forward to prove me wrong and you're just bitching.

What we saw in the movie was character development showing he had a bit of comic relief in him but he was still a lot more ruthless than funny. He shot his own weatherman for telling a bad forecast, he kidnapped Nami, experimented on animals with that plant thing and was planning to destroy east blue.

That he wrote Chapter 0 to directly precede the events in the movie? Oda writing it doesn't mean it's canon. Also Shiki is canon because of chapter 0, but the movie isn't. How does Oda directly writing the story for it mean it's not canon? He most likely wrote Ch. Because not everything the author writes is canon, especially considering authors specifically mention what is canon outside of the manga. Manga is canon and anything the author says outside of manga is also canon.
Battle of the gods is canon because the author said so. Oda made no mention of it being canon, therefore it's not canon. Oda could write a fanfiction, doesn't mean it's canon. He wrote chapter 0 to market the movie because of money. Chapter 0 is canon, the movie isn't, the statement still stands. If the movie didn't happen, then what did Shiki do after 20 years? Which was the current storyline? His whole plan was idiotic, rising an army of big animals which where not even that strong meh.
