I have a very particular taste in anime. First off, my favorite shows need characters to whom I can relate. Second, those anime have a sense of drama or climax, like a crazy character betrayal, death, or a really good love triangle. Lastly, and most importantly, my favorite shows are able to inspire me. In this particular school, there are two kinds of dorms: one for regular students, and one for the odd and unnaturally talented, the Sakurasou dorm. She soon meets Shiina Mashiro, a master artist but an airhead, as she moves into the Sakurasou dorms, and proceeds to help her adjust to normal life.

Review: The Pet Girl of Sakurasou Complete Collection (DVD)
His only hope is to move out and move back into the normal dorms. Recommendation: I highly recommend this to anyone with a taste for romantic comedy.
Each of the characters is a work of art in and of themselves, but when put together the bonds between them are beautiful at worst and moving at best. Sorata Kanda is just a normal student. He wants to make it through his classes and graduate.
He is in the normal non-arts program at Suimei and wants nothing more than to get back to a normal dorm and out of Sakura Hall. He was sent to Sakura after an incident involving him adopting a cat until such a date when the cats were properly removed from his care via adoption or other means.
Though Kanda enjoys the company living in Sakura Hall, he feels out of place around the extravagant characters that share his living space. After being placed on Mashiro-Duty and deciding to become a Game Designer though, he realizes that Sakura Hall is his home and would do anyting to protect the integrity of his exiled family.
Mashiro is a world-famous artist that moves into Sakura Hall. She sees the world in a unique way that makes Kanda feel as though she is out of reach of the real world. She often puts Kanda in awkward situations for nothing but the sake of getting mental images for the manga she is trying to write. After moving to Suimei she fell in love with Kanda, though he has no idea. After an issue with her voice acting career, Aoyama moves into Sakura Hall and is inducted into the family at Sakura Hall.
He and Misaki Kamiigusa are in their final year at Suimei and have spent years working together to make anime. Jin writes the scripts and Misaki animates them. Jin spends a lot of his free time keeping track of the several girls he sleeps with often. I loved this show. The story is unique and exciting and tells a beautiful story of two people from two entirely different worlds coming together and finding themselves in love.
She has no concept of what love is, yet when she realizes she loves Kanda she tries to let that love show however she can. I can forgive the the opening and ending a point or two for the animation the beautifully expresses the characters while they play. This show was more than just your typical rom-com, though that is the genre.
The Pet Girl of Sakurasou is a work of art. Besides a few minor bumps here and there this show is nearly flawless. I admit I was skeptical when I first started it, but within a few episodes I was too emotionally attached to stop. After being kicked out of the normal dorm for keeping a stray cat, Sorata Kanda moves into Sakura Dormitory. As he starts to get used to the life in the dorm, Mashiro Shiina, a world famous artist who cannot even take care of her daily life, moves in. The story is about their daily lives as well as mental growth. Pretty much everyone in Sakura Residence except for Sorata has their own issues. One thing for certain is that the characters in this anime are very interesting in their own way, except for Jin, who seems to be a copy-paste of Yusaku from Toradora. It starts with Sorata living in a local dormitory and having regretted living there due to the residents, who are colorful, unique, and at the same time very chaotic. I love the story for its slow but nonetheless effective boil — after episode 12, Shiina discovers love at long last and how it feels, and now comes the inevitable romance ladder. The anime itself tells about the lives of everyone in the dorm.

Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo - Volume 07.5
Sakurasou is a dorm of Suimei University of the Arts, where the strangest, trouble-maker students live. After being kicked from the regular dorm for keeping stray cats, Kanda Sorata began to move to Sakurasou. As he get used to live in the dorm along with the other members, Shiina Mashiro moves in. Later, his classmate Nanami Aoyama, also moved to Sakurasou. The story is about chasing dreams, friendship, and how to face the challenges that keep coming into their way. Personally, I really like this anime, because it taught me so many things in all its episodes.
