Nightmare cartoon movie

Part avant-garde art film, part amusing but morbid fairy tale, it is a delightfully ghoulish holiday musical that displays more inventiveness in its brief 75 minutes than some studios can manage in an entire year. Although its soul is sweetness itself, its surface is disturbing and intentionally so, and its clever and satiric sense of humor is undoubtedly pitched to adult tastes. Puppets, it should come as no surprise, make much better puppets than people ever could. The residents of Halloweentown, for instance, are glimpsed celebrating another successful night of fright. While wandering around in spiritual despair, Jack literally stumbles into Christmastown and is blown away by how bright and shiny everything is.

The Nightmare Before Christmas - 3D

What's this? Apparently, The Nightmare Before Christmas fans can expect another trip to Halloween Town in the near future, except it may not look like how we all remember it. There may actually be a live-action version of The Nightmare Before Christmas coming from Disney soon, so I guess now we all have to start imagining what Jack Skellington and Oogie Boogie might look like as live-action characters. So far, this news is still just a rumor, but film site Moviehole is claiming that the rumor comes from a reputable source close to Disney.

That rumor presents two possible directions for this potential Nightmare Before Christmas follow-up. It sounds like a sequel may be the plan right now, but the idea of a live-action adaptation being in the mix might throw fans for a loop. Part of the magic of Nightmare Before Christmas is its unique stop-motion style of animation. The movie is arguably the most beloved and well-known movie to employ stop-motion animation, and one of the first big-screen ventures to embrace the style.

Nightmare 's success went on to launch a string of successful stop-motion animation movies from Tim Burton and Henry Selick, including James and the Giant Peach , Corpse Bride , Coraline , and Frankenweenie. But then again, the possibility of Disney turning an animated classic into a new live-action film should not really come as a shock.

Disney has been in the business of turning its animated films into live-action movies for the past decade, beginning with Alice in Wonderland in and Maleficent in The number of those adaptations exploded over the last few years, with Disney now preparing to release four live-action adaptations over the course of Dumbo , Aladdin , The Lion King , and Lady and the Tramp and even more adaptations planned for the future including Mulan , The Hunchback of Notre Dame , and The Little Mermaid.

With all these adaptations flooding from Disney, it is reasonable to assume that the studio would also be looking at a cult-favorite animated hit like The Nightmare Before Christmas as another potential adaptation.

For his part, Tim Burton has spoken about how he has not been interested in making any sort of sequel or spin-off movies from The Nightmare Before Christmas in the past. When the movie was being reissued in , Burton explained to MTV that he did not feel it was the right type of movie for a sequel:. We will just have to wait to see if anything comes from this new rumor.

If so, then prepare for your nightmares to come to life in the near future. By Dylan Kickham. Search Close.

The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf animated film gets August release date in new trailer

So this time decided to review one of my most favorite childhood films of all time! The Nightmare before Christmas one of my most favorite Clayanimation films ever made and there is just so much to talk about it. Anyways guys before I start this review I might wanna leave a little bit of a Warning sigh. However Jack skellington isnt so much happy about his own holiday since its allways the same again and then yet again allways with the same stuff so he gets tired however a mysterious forest with doors having all the symbols Easter Day, Thanksgiving, Valentines Day, San Patrick's day, Halloween the last door caught Jack's appearence which was the Christmas door opening it takes jack straight to this Christmas world.. Like that's insane :flushed: ". Looking directly at movie everything seems normal and what I really like about the film is how they pretty much kept the Halloween theme around. One of the most impressive things was the Halloween town hall where all the monsters live now during the filming the town was so small however in the movie turned out to be very huge. Anyways it's very beautiful film. Another thing I like is the voice acting and the songs! Everything from these songs are just so freaking beautiful and every lyric iscatchy I said so myself cause hearing the main intro song all the time the song gets in my head and I cant stop singing it.

The inescapable marriage of sight and sound is what makes a movie great, versus being another average film amongst the many. Sound is not limited to the static dialogue, but more about how the dialogue influences the characters and the scene. Sight is not just the movement on screen, rather movement in connection with the other characters and, more importantly, the viewer. He used a visually impressive art-form that changed how characters interacted with each other, effecting the flow and sight of the movie; coupled with original music scores and a unique dialogue experience. I get the impression that he was meant to be created with as much charisma as possible. Is it his personalty? The hopeful misunderstood dreamer that feels happiness and sadness deeply. Is it the animation?

Far too often, animated movies are written off as overly kid-friendly, unsophisticated fluff, when the truth is the medium is capable of telling stories as mature as the most prestigious live-action dramas. Sometimes, however, an animated movie ostensibly made for children can also be spooky enough to terrify the most hardened youngsters, and even a few adults.

For several decades, Tim Burton has proven to be one of the most eccentric filmmakers in the film industry thanks to his unique visual style, thus paving the way for classics like Edward Scissorhands , Batman , and Big Fish , just to name a few. Instead, he only produced it as an adaptation of a poem that he had written in while working as an animator at Disney.
