Yes, Finn. You did. They need help, but neither one of them trusts Princess Bubblegum, so they go to someone who has a solid track record fighting monsters and armies: Finn.

Because of the poison, FP has cooled down enough for Finn to safely touch her, a clever metaphor for how people change after the end of a relationship and how the memory of another person can become something idealized once the subject is no longer in reach.

Another fistfight breaks out when Don John confronts Flame King about FP refusing to become his wife, and these instances of aggression show why FP is a better type of ruler for the Fire Kingdom. And luckily, she has CB at her side to fight for her when the time for action comes. After saving Finn and the princess from their jail cell, CB is hit in the face with some flames, and the application of heat ends up finishing the undercooked candy person.

CB emerges from the fire with newly smooth eyeballs, and his mind has become similarly refined. Finn may get shown up by CB, but he learns a valuable lesson about relationships in the process, and watching his ex-girlfriend find a new champion gives Finn the closure he needs to start looking for new romance instead of holding out hope for the rekindling of past flames. 15 Most Popular Adventure Time Characters Ranked Worst To Best

Now we get help. It felt like a bit of a stretch… who am I kidding, it was flat-out weird and forced at times, but it all worked out in the end spoiler: I can respect a show that completely warps one of its characters just to make another character feel god-awful. Another little bit of synchronicity: the episode of Fist … that I picked at random had the baddies coercing a female assassin to kill Kenshiro, threatening to kill her mother if she refused. Maybe it was referenced in an earlier episode or some junk, but I doubt it. Honestly I found myself baffled and scoffing. BUT, it came to make sense, slowly but surely. Reily is revealed. Which would explain why Princess Bubblegum depended on him all the time — was he supposed to be her right hand man all along for an actual reason?

Adventure Time: Character Analyses — Hi, I am starting to think that Marceline is not...

Following in its footsteps, the new standalone spin-off Gwent: Rogue Mage got its hooks into me with its roguelike elements, tricky boss battles, and lightweight but intriguing story. That formula can eventually start to overstay its welcome given how long it takes to complete the story when there are only so many enemy decks to go up against. But it's a very enjoyable journey if you don't worry too much about the destination. If you never played Thonebreaker, both it and Rogue Mage basically use Gwent as an RPG battle system, throwing you up against AI enemies and giving both sides some cards that would be hilariously unbalanced in its PvP counterpart. See, part of why I've always found standard Gwent a bit lackluster is that there are a handful of meta strategies that are very powerful, and putting together a deck with few restrictions can be tedious and intimidating. Thronebreaker and Rogue Mage work so well because their deck building restrictions, weird cards, and unorthodox match rules actually make them significantly more fun. There isn't as much focus in Rogue Mage on a sweeping epic of war and betrayal like in Thronebreaker, as the story is mostly centered on a single character: the obsessive mage Alzur, responsible for creating the first Witchers centuries before Geralt's heyday.

Alright, I finally got around to seeing The Red Throne. He's usually referred to as the Flame Lord, but his full name is Don John the Flame Lord.

The Red Throne is perhaps Finn at his most unlikable. And by God, Somvilay and Seo Kim did not hold back with this portrayal, to the absolute detriment of the episode. This is the one time in the series I can honestly say that Finn simply did not feel like the character he was made to be. The great tragedy of this one is that I actually like the premise of it. But man, they make Finn as stupid and as creepy as possible, to the point where he seems like a legitimate sociopath. But by the end of it, I just end up angry with Finn. Don Jon himself is a character who is entirely insignificant; the only thing I ever remember about him is his design, though I remember thinking it was cool in Wizard Battle far before this episode even came into fruition.
