A deleted scene from Season 1 of The Wheel of Time brings a new look at Egwene's initiation into the Women's Circle to tap deeper into the series' mythology. Some fans may notice that it includes a shot of Egwene emerging from a pool of water which was seen in the first trailers for the show, but which didn't appear in the aired version. The word "colorful" is quite literal, as the ritual that the women of Two Rivers perform involves seven jugs of paint: brown, blue, white, green, grey, yellow and red.

As Egwene stands in the pool, the women pour the colors into the water, and she dips under the surface and comes up with multicolored streaks. Although this scene with Egwene isn't described in The Wheel of Time books, readers know that the seven colors shown are used to represent the Ajahs of the Aes Sedai.

Even in the lore of the show itself, none of the women present have any affiliation with the Aes Sedai at this point in the story, but the visual reference to the Ajahs is clearly a deliberate indication of feminine power.

The words spoken by the Wisdom Nynaeve during the ritual may or may not have any specific connection to the colors, each of which stands for a different skillset that an Aes Sedai may have.

Exactly when the scene takes place in the first episode is also unclear -- the aired version included a different kind of initiation for Egwene, and in both of them she goes into the water but isn't visibly wet at the beginning. Sharp-eyed viewers may also catch another symbolic connection to the Aes Sedai at the beginning of the clip.

As the women walk into the cave where the sacred pool is located, an overhead view frames them with a gap in the rocks shaped like the Flame of Tar Valon, the curved white teardrop that signifies the female half of the One Power.

The Wheel of Time takes place in a world in which many individuals can wield magic, but men who attempt it are doomed to madness and hunted down by the all-female Aes Sedai. The prophesied savior known as the Dragon has been reborn, but he is as likely to break the world as he is to save it. A release window for The Wheel of Time Season 2 has not yet been announced, but recent casting reveals are building hype for the way the story will expand and change with the introduction of new characters, including key players like Aviendha and Elayne.
