Konohana kitan yuri

In a bustling village of spirits, Yuzu, a cheerful fox girl, starts her first job as an attendant at the traditional hot springs inn Konohanatei. Though Yuzu has no experience working at such a high-class establishment, Kiri, the affable and reliable head attendant, immediately puts her to work learning the basics. While Yuzu's eagerness initially proves to be more of a hindrance than a blessing, her playful nature brings a unique charm to the inn, as both customers and her fellow workers quickly warm up to her clumsy yet well-meaning mistakes. Under the guidance of the other foxes—the rigid Satsuki, the carefree Natsume, the critical Ren, and the quiet Sakura—Yuzu steadily learns the trade of an inn attendant while learning to love the magical world surrounding her. Konohana Kitan presents the heartwarming tale of a simple fox girl forging bonds with others and finding a home amidst the mysterious, beautiful world of spirits.

Yuzu (Konohana Kitan)

She reads Yuri manga, primarily in Japanese, then rates and reviews them. This was a theme in Citrus even though I was totally a fan of it. Like when Digi Charat was a thing in the early s. That was a sad and upsetting time. Futaribeya A Room For Two adheres to like, all of these tropes. Also, in another book I read and reviewed recently from SuBLime Manga called Coyote , the world was rich and supernatural. Yes, there were men having sex. But there were rules and a story being built.

Perhaps the homosexuality is played for laughs. As her exciting first year of high school begins, Sakurako Kawawa settles into her new lodgings. There, she meets her roommate— the stunningly beautiful Kasumi Yamabuki, who lives life at her own pace. From day one, responsible, level-headed Sakurako and lazy, easygoing Kasumi find themselves at odds with one another.

The artwork in this story is, again, cute. Now, moving onto our second book, Konohana Kitan. Why am I combining these two books into a singular review? Because this story went completely over my head.

Like…oh my god, wow. I could not follow this world at all. It was so culturally Japanese that I understood nothing. Definitely open minded and appreciative of culture and traditions. Yuzu is a brand new employee at Konohanatei, the hot-springs inn that sits on the crossroads between worlds. A simple, clumsy but charmingly earnest girl, Yuzu must now figure out her new life working alongside all the other fox-spirits who run the inn under one cardinal rule — at Konohanatei, every guest is a god!

It seems like this story is comprised of mini stories. Individual tales that are little standalone tales. And they are. At first, I thought this would be like Pet Shop of Horrors at a hot springs. Guests coming in who have lessons to learn. Basically, new guests file through and each kitsune Fox girl that works at the spring has a different response to them. Loryn is picking flowers on Twitter.

Review for Konohana Kitan

Tokyopop license the manga for an English release. Konohana Kitan also received an anime adaptation that aired between October and December , which I have reviewed here. The first volume of Konohana Kitan contains six chapters — or maybe an introduction and five chapters would be a more accurate way to describe it. Either way, the chapters are not numbered. Konohana Kitan (TV)

Arriving in Konohana-tei, a hotel in a world between the human world and the realm of the gods, to work as one of the hosts, fox girl Yuzu finds herself in the company of several other fox girls and later one doll. Being in a realm between worlds, the hotel itself sees visitors of all kinds; gods, spirits, lost souls Stig: Konohana Kitan seemed like kind of a godsend no pun intended after shows like Gingitsune and Otome Yokai Zakuro popularizing the more human-like "monster girls", although it needs to be said that this show leans more towards Gingitsune rather than Zakuro , for one because it's a slice-of-life without a main villain and no main overarching story, but also because the characters tend to lean more towards the comedic side rather than the dramatical overtones of Zakuro. It's not that particularly original -- comparisons to Hanasaku Iroha are probably inevitable -- but slice of life shows are generally limited to things that actually can happen in real life, albeit with the supernatural angle spicing things up. At the same time, with this being a hotspring hotel, Konohana Kitan 's flirtations with the supernatural gives the show a certain angle as its guests can be borrowed from quite a few aspects of Japanese culture; be that spiritual, religious or just general superstition. Stig: And this does help the show overcoming its somewhat disappointing core cast.

Konohana Kitan

As I sat down to watch Konohana Kitan , I thought back on my experience with the manga, which was to mostly ignore it when it was running as Konohana-tei Kitan in Yuri Hime S magazine. Animal ears are not my thing; I just never bothered to follow it.. To my surprise I did not hate it.

Kokohana-tei is a hot spring hotel located in an inn town between our world and the other world, where many people go to visit. The story portrays the lives of fox spirits, who take the form of girls and work at the hotel. Source: Anime News Network. Within the first five minutes of Konohana Kitan , newcomer Yuzu is forcibly stripped and scrubbed by two of her coworkers as one girl comments on the size of her breasts and the camera pans jerkily from her curled toes to her flushed face. But, alas, someone thought this nonsense needed to be included, and here we are. When the cast actually interacts with a hotel guest, the characters have time to stretch their legs and the show is quite engaging.

Konohana Kitan is the story of kitsune fox girl Yuzu, an energetic young newcomer to the staff of Konohanatei, a traditional Japanese style hot springs resort inn bustling with visitors both human and spirit. The story follows Yuzu and the guests and staff of Konohanatei, the vast majority of the former also being cute fox girls! With good variety in looks and temperaments you're sure to fall in love with the characters of Konohana Kitan, be it the cool-headed, purple-haired workaholic Satsuki; the energetic tomboyish Natsume; the refined, feminine fashionista Ren; the lovable genki-girl Yuzu herself, or any other number of the charming staff and guests.
