The story 4. To put it simple, it's just a tale of three friends and their adventures in the journey to adulthood. What's so especial about this? There are tons of books and mangas about students, first loves and school as a unifying theme. Even we and that's you and me wrote some kind of fiction with these elements in some point of our studying period and outside that time too.

Now I know people are singing praises of Fate Zero as the best thing since sliced bread and Sword Art Online is going viral but screw it, Sakamichi no Apollon is the pick of the lot for me. This anime is so much more than just playing jazz, having a difficult past or falling in love. The soft shadows used are irksome and the only eye-catching scenes are the jamming sessions when Kaoru and Sentaro begin to play. But what I do appreciate is the effort they put into the musical scenes, which turned out so smooth and fluid that watching them play is almost as good as a live session.

Kaoru surprises himself by laughing. He is not 16 anymore, no matter how much Sentaro still makes him feel that way. He does not have to shovel around what he wants to say.

Perhaps Kaoru doubted his abilities to play jazz and figured him joining in would ruin the melody and he'd be ostracized by the trio and Ritsuko.

Sakamichi no Apollon

From the perspective of someone observing artistry in real time, the experience itself is fleeting; time slips away and suddenly, the performance stops, but in the same amount of time, the memory slips away into a place we hold dearly for the rest of our lives. In Sakimichi no Apollon, we are treated to such a moment, perhaps a defining one, in the life of an awkward, introverted Kaoru Nishimi, as he takes in a drum solo that eventually captures his soul. Initially repulsed by the piercing noise, the rhythm and raw power of the performance gradually seeps into him, and it opens him up to a world that his less-than-ideal life at home could never provide. The connection between Kaoru and Sentaro is founded on this single performance, and say what you will about the originality of a story of two polar opposites, the moment that set the relationship between these two characters into motion took place in the basement of Welcome Records.

The next scene is at the school?

Being intellectual in addition to being a transfer student all the time, he has always been seen as an outcast. All he has had to do was bear it as usual until the next time he moved. But things were slightly different this time. First, he started to get close to the class president, Mukae Ritsuko, and secondly, unlikely as it seemed, he grew closer to Kawabuchi Sentaro. Sentaro was infamous for getting into fights, skipping class and was an overall bad boy. Strangely enough, the three of them find common ground in music, namely jazz, and Kaoru finds himself actually enjoying the new town. The show being a bit under-rated, I was really surprised by how much I loved it.

I really hate being busy and a really great anime with a great episode comes up. As I always say, Sakamichi no Apollon had been going pretty fast. When the episode started, I think that it opened with a already a year or a few months after Sentarou had gone missing.
