Netflix offered plenty of exciting content in , ranging from compelling documentaries to arthouse dramas. Fortunately, the streamer is in the business of delivering promising news too, and Deadline confirmed last year that they greenlit an animated series adaptation of Wings of Fire. This is a series of fantasy novels written by Tui T. Sutherland and published by Scholastic. The first published was The Dragonet Prophecy in and the series is still ongoing.
Deadline reports that sources close to Netflix have confirmed that a Wings of Fire animated series is no longer to go ahead on the streaming service. The series was anticipated to follow young dragons fulfilling prophecies in a fantasy realm; the first arc falls on five dragonets of destiny who set out on a quest to help solve conflicts between the dragon tribes of Pyrrhia. As for who was behind it, Dan Milano Robot Chicken and Christa Starr Mystery Science Theater were adapting the series, noted as showrunners and executive producers.
Taking this into consideration, Wings of Fire has been cancelled in the wake of cutbacks behind the scenes, much to the disappointment of fans:. Did netflix really cancel WingsofFire????? Just imagine how incredible these could all look, fully blooming with life in its own show. So, I received the news today that the wingsoffire series was cancelled on Netflix. As a fan of the series, I'm am saddened by this news.

Netflix is keeping the hype training going for the forthcoming animated series, Sonic Prime , with the newest fan-favorite character being none other than Big the Cat and Froggy. Shadow the Hedgehog has already been teased as a character in the show, as well. Similar to Shadow, Big the Cat and his pal Froggy premiered in the video game franchise for the Dreamcast console era. The first Sonic Adventure game mixed up the formula in the series, making a vast number of characters, all with different controls and gameplay playable, including Knuckles, Tails, Amy Rose, a robot named E Gamma — and perhaps most notoriously of all — Big the Cat, whose levels amounted to a fishing game simulator in the midst of what is otherwise an action-packed platformer. However, as a character, Big is quite a lovable and cute creature. As such, even though his Sonic Adventure campaign had unrefined controls and was considered a low point of the game, Big nevertheless returned as a character in future games, albeit in a more minor supporting role.
