Before the final episode, I admit I was worried that the ending was going to be disappointing. With all of the death and violence, I was afraid that every character was going to die and that the ending was going to be hollow and meaningless. However, all of the tragedy has meaning in the end. But this show was so hopeless and relentless that I thought the ending was going to be the same.

The episode opens with a flashback to Sister Nana trying to tell Calamity Mary that committing crimes as a magical girl is unacceptable. As expected, Calamity Mary tries to shoot the two of them, who run off after Winterprison gives CM a bit of a beating. Winterprison warns Sister Nana to stay on guard after that one time with CM. But at least WP saved Nana!
Mahou Shoujo Site is yet another dark magical girl series. This series has an excellent premise and aesthetics. Each magical girl gets their own stick from the Mahou Shoujo Site, which have different abilities, and their lifespan is converted to magical energy for the stick. So, the more they use the sticks, the lesser time they have to live.
Following a few additional depressed Koyuki scenes and another strangely placed transformation sequence , we finally get down and dirty into the actual purpose of this survival game. We already knew about the game selecting for a top candidate, but not what the candidate was meant for. The hilarious bit though is how Master and familiar have complete control over the exam, and can do whatever they want for selection—we sure saw how well that worked this time around. Of course the truly awesome bit was the destruction of Fav —that was something I definitely did not see coming here. Fight scene problems aside, Mahoiku certainly knows how to give us what we want. Not a bad conclusion for this little survival game. While no second season announcement was forthcoming, Mahoiku did keep things open just enough for a potential sequel in the future too.
Quite a few loose ends are tied together, and the episode leaves it open for a sequel. The sole winner of the project, determined by the rules set by the current Master here, the sole survivor after everyone else has been killed—thanks, Cranberry! He wants Snow White to be the new Master since the others have personality problems. Disclaimer: in previous exams, girls merely forgot that they were ever magical girls and lived on with their lives.
