In an instant, Wei WuXian tried to remove the ribbon from his face, take out his talismans, and even his leg was ready to attack, but very soon Lan WangJi had both his hands pinned against the tree and used all of his body to press firmly against him to keep him in place.

He then got rid of the final space that was left between them. He kissed him. And then, all of a sudden, the struggling stopped, and Wei WuXian more or less froze in his hold, yet his lips were slowly responding. His inner desires that screamed for more were defeating all of his little remaining conscience. More …! And then, reluctantly, Lan WangJi pushed himself away, his hand taking along the flower that was still in his fist, and he left the scene fast and smoothly.

His heart was racing, and everywhere felt hot. When he thought he had distanced himself enough, he lowered himself back to the grass and staggered towards a tree, trying to control his breathing. Calm Down. Yet, the opposite happened. The realization of his actions came to him like the ruthless fire that had burnt down the Cloud Recesses, and hatred, anger and panic all flowed through his usually composed and collected body.

He lost control. Not only that, he took advantage of a defenseless guy. Doing something like that…. Against his will. His breathing quickened, and the anger spread out strongly throughout his entire body. He opened his hand and stared at the flower.

It was a bit crumbled from his tight hold, nothing like how he would and should treat a flower. The thought - almost poetic - brought him back to Wei Ying, a defenseless flower violated like that…. As he put the flower deep in his sleeve, the anger that flowed through his body reached towards his arm which he suddenly swung at the tree — hitting it violently with his fist. He hit the tree again. The anger lingered, and so did both the feeling and image of Wei Ying against that tree, kissed by his very own lips.

And again. And again , he thrust his fist into the tree as if his life depended on it. What are you doing? Do you really hate me that much?

Wei Ying seemed hesistant, but he took a step back in the end. Are you okay? Still not leaving! Furious, Lan WangJi drew his sword and a couple of trees suffered from it as he released a series of rays of blue light that slashed them into half.

Lowering the sword at his side, he panted. Gathering his breath, controlling his trembling body he then looked up at Wei Ying who still seemed frozen in shock. Lan WangJi stared at him. Wei WuXian stared back. Despite the worry on his face, his lips curled slightly into an awkward smile.

Strange, how this guy was the cause of these awful emotions, the lack of control, the anger, yet looking at him like this was also rather… calming.

He put Bichen away and turned around, ready to walk away now that he had calmed down, and of course before things would get any worse again.

Instead of at himself, the irritation boiling within him was directed at the oblivious Yiling Patriarch, but this time the control remained, and he chose not to say a word. He closed his eyes, slowly able to calm his feelings again unlike last time, and he felt himself relax.

Now… that seemed a lot more like it. At least what was important right now, was that Wei WuXian had no single clue and would probably never find out whatever he did to him. And somewhere in between all of the aching, in between all of the annoyance and irritation, the painful longing and yearning, Lan WangJi was completely fine with that.
