There are a lot of great animated movies, Disney and non-Disney, that we used to love, that are not as well known today. If you have seen most, or all, of these forgotten animated movies, chances are your childhood was pretty amazing. If you have not seen any of these movies, I am sorry… but you really missed out. When in Australia, try not to get involved with poachers, but if you do, it will make for an awesome adventure!

We all wanted to become knights and go on a quest; a two-headed dragon friend wouldn't hurt either. Yes, there was an animated series along with the movies you know and love today. Were they great quality movies? Probably not, but we did love them at the time. These may be forgotten movies from our time, but we will always remember how much we loved them as youngsters. Go on and watch your favorites and relive the magic all over again.

Almost everyone in the country lives within a short driving distance of a community swimming pool. The best thing about these pools is that they are often free for local citizens. If your hometown does not have its own pool, then it should only cost a few dollars to visit a pool in a neighboring town. If you want to enjoy the beautiful weather away from the pool, then you absolutely need to take the family to the local park.

The kids will have a blast at the playground. The open space is also the perfect place to play a game of catch or sit down for a quiet picnic. All of this fun can be had without spending a dollar. Playing board games in the living room is the perfect Saturday activity if the weather is not cooperating or if everyone is too tired to go out. Since kids these days spend most of their free time on their phone, this is the perfect way to teach them about the games you played as a child. If you do not have any board games in the house, then you will be able to pick up a few cheap ones at the department store.

Whether you live in a small town or a large city, it should not be too hard to find a fun event in your area. These events usually offer free concerts, games and other activities.

In addition to being a great way to have fun on a Saturday, they will also help expand your children's horizons. Friday, June 1st was my first "First Friday" as a waitress. What does this mean? Racism lives within each one of us. These fleeting thoughts turn into more permanent thoughts. The more permanent thoughts can eventually lead to racist comments and actions. These racist comments and actions lead to tragedies like the Alton Sterling shooting or the Philando Castile shooting or the Dallas Police shooting.

Although racism is deeply rooted within each of our histories, we have the power to change it. We need to understand that we are all racist and then we need to decide that we want to change. We need to ask questions, reevaluate our lives, and determine a way in which we can personally help end racism. We need to see every race as equal. It would be an injustice to forget about these individual aspects that make us all unique.

But we can still be different and equal. Because, in the end, we are all human and it is in our human nature to love one another. For most college students, summer has a variety of purposes.

For some, it's an opportunity to work more and save up some money or volunteer to get in some extra hours. For others, it's an opportunity to lay back and just enjoy the sun and live life to the fullest.

For me, I always thought my summers had to be one way or the other, and so I always leaned toward the side of working more, taking more classes, and extra volunteer hours. But, because of that, I felt like my summers rushed by and I had no crazy summer memories. I felt like I had spent my summer working, and I was okay with that because I felt it was a mature decision. Focusing on my future, focusing on my academics and my career, it was a sacrifice that had to be made to get what I dream of.

But does it have to be a sacrifice? As college students, and as young adults, we are so hard on ourselves to be put into this timeline. We're surrounded by people inventing new technology at 14 and being billionaires by their early twenties. But where along the way did we forget that we're still supposed to live? Life isn't just about being successful or making a name for yourself.

It's about connection, romance, and memories. It's about taking advantage of the life you've been given and truly living, not just passing time.
