Read recommendations by 8 more users. Cross Ange is Code Geass's little sister. If you enjoyed Code Geass then there is no way that you wouldn't enjoy Cross Ange. You probably haven't seen it because of a low MAL rating, but the rating is low only due to the show portraying a bit of "realism" and covering subjects such as discrimination which might be hard for some to swallow.
Yes, the animation is slightly worse than Code Geass and the plot is not as serious, but otherwise it's pretty much a female version of Code Geass. Both produced by Sunrise, so expect mecha action, plenty of plot twists and a wide range of characters, some of which you will love and some of which you will hate.
Cross Ange is a very underrated show, and is a must if you're a Code Geass fan. There have been many attempts to recapture Code Geass' spark over the years. All of the ones recommended on this page--Guilty Crown and the like--completely failed.
For reasons unknown to science, the most successful Geass-inspired show was made by the creator of Gundam Seed??? If you can get past those two huge red flags, you will find the same mix of drama, war, comedy, and insanity that made you love Code Geass. Not to mention,made by Sunrise studio , and they don't fuck around like we know and gets on with it instead of wasting time, and that's what has been happening so far within. In hindsight, the mood of the both show is very similar from beginning to end, giving the audience the epic feeling from their well-thought out stories.
But it is not like the plots copy each other in anyway. Each create their own unique world that I highly recommend for you to check out and stick with it until the end. Cross Ange is basically a more ecchi and brutal version of Code Geass, both are epic Mecha animes made by Sunrise about royals that were kick out of there empire.
In both anime there is Discrimination and there is also rebellion against the empire lead by the main character.
Both have mecha action, death of a characters but a slight diffirence since Cross Ange has low ratings due to some yuri and discrimination of existance on a character. Another thing is the main character which is female and romance takes place. Artwork is a little alike but Code Geass has the characters of lengthwise. Mecha shows that deal heavily with topics such as royalty and rebellion. Both also have their share of dark elements to them. Do you want to watch literally this exact show but better?

The people we thought we humans are actually the monsters and the monsters are the real humans. Great story, good plots twists, very emotional, mystery, future reality and a wonderful female protagonist that makes anyone tremble; you probably will enjoy this anime. Both are set in dystopian worlds in which characters first adapt to and then plan to destroy the status quo.
The difference is that Cross Ange is definitely more serious about communicating to viewers about the horrible feudalistic society humanity had in place up to the 20th century and other vices, such as sexual assault, racism, etc.

If you enjoy watching character development when facing a reality check, then try the other. Plots are completely different. Same shock value mech drama, but at least Valvrave had more budget. Both have previously civilian characters who are suddenly thrown into war.
The plots are well written and deep with many mysteries to be revealed. Both titles gained a lot of attention negative for having shocking elements and plot developments. They are exciting, definitely very dramatic some say over the top and borderline parody. For this they have been called "train wrecks" and so bad it's good.
However I like both of these shows very much and I see the aforementioned qualities as positive aspects that make the stories that much more interesting and engaging. Oh yeah, both are mecha. They're both original anime by Sunrise. Both have a rather ridiculous but well-written story. Cross Ange has more of a focus on character development while Valvrave focusses more on action. They both have the same amount of Yuri and action except one is a more serious anime while the other was more of an excchi based franchise. However, both exhibit the same warrior shoujo who fights for justice.
Similarities: Both have the same, josie, advnture, fantasy, action and ecchi genre. Both involves the same main female characters who gets sexually abused. Both also involves the main female character leading a posse of fighting vixens against a higher authority. Both also involves the same main female character whom where once a member of the nobility but now have to fight in order to survive.
Both has the same amount of quas-ihentai in it, where it can rage from self pleasure to sadistic acts. Dissimilarities: QB:R was set in some fantasy land where chicks with attitude and who are in heat rules. CA:TRR is set in some futuristic land where magic and science were combine and chicks with no magic were sexually abused and used as canon fodders.
One antagonist in one anime involves men who were commanded by chicks with attitude, while in the other anime, the antagonist there are not only dragons from another dimension, but also the bureaucracy who uses them. The fanservice in one anime was more intense than the other one. Both have the same action, shoujo, fantasy, magic, yuri and ecchi genre, also both have the same quasi-hentai thingy that we guys would love.
Except Queen Blade: Rebellion was set more on a medieval setting while Cross Ange: Tenshi to Ryuu no Rondo was set in some futuristic time where magic and science where combine. However when it comes to that almost-hentai thingy, in Queen's Blade, the girls there where more like pleasuring themselves, while in Cross Ange has abit of that sadistic thing in it where girl banging girl may take place Note: Recommendation is subject for updating or I may delete it depending how "Cross Ange" does in upcoming episodes.
Both have the same plot where it involves girls who have to fight to survive and it also has the same female MC who has to fight more to live and possible to regain her honor, however both anime may have the same amount of provocative scenes that boys will howl for, except for one which really does have such provocative scenes. Enjoy watching it muchachos.

Healthy amount of fan service. Dark mood. Enemies coming from The Outside. However, Cross Ange is considerably darker and the scope is likely to be broader. Both pairs act similarly to each other Male MC is determined to be with Female MC and although Female MC is of royalty, they're more of outcasts in the system and act as a recluse, although very adept in combat.
Both shows have weird crap coming from the sky obviously harming humanity. In combat, the only way to fight is to get lots of skin showing. Both series take place in a futuristic setting. Extraterrestrial beings exist and threaten daily life for the citizens on Earth.
To combat these monsters genetically altered vixens, which in this case are Pandora Freezing , Norma Cross Ange , must enlist in the armed forces and fight. Death and destruction are routine for these soldiers who can't turn back to their old care-free life. The females leads, Satellizer and Angelise are royalty with a horrific background. The pain caused from their past makes them shun others who try to be their friends.
To make things worse, they are full of themselves, which causes jealousy among the other cadets in the academy, especially since they are naturally gifted in combat.
