Although Toy Story was the start of the decades-long Easter egg hunt that was inadvertently started by Pixar in , much like its predecessor, Toy Story 2 found even more subtle ways to shout out their shorts, hide their now-famous classroom number, and even include some cameos from other Pixar characters. As Executive Producer and Director of the first three films in the Toy Story franchise — among many other Pixar projects — it was only fitting that John Lasseter receive some in-movie recognition for his work. While this was done by putting his surname on a bookbinding on Andy's bookcase in the first film, in Toy Story 2 the shout-out to Lasseter is even more subtle when an airline called LassetAir was announced over the loudspeaker at the airport. Pixar's second film falls smack-dab in between the first two Toy Story movies, but it doesn't go without several cameos in Toy Story 2.
