Greatest Showman Director Offers Naruto Live-Action Movie Update

A Naruto live-action movie casting call confirms that the movie is still very much underway. Naruto is such a fan-favorite that the series even spawned a sequel in Boruto. The manga-creator, Masashi Kishimoto, announced years ago that a Naruto live-action movie was in the works at Hollywood. However, in recent years there have been very few updates on the status of that project. Recently, reliable news-breaker DanielRPK found a casting call that confirms that the project is going forward.

Images via Pierrot. The Naruto anime original premiered in and ended 5 years later with a total of episodes produced. Since then, the show has become one of the more popular anime of its time. Fans love the anime series for its idealistic themes and hilarious comedy. The show is also one of the few action anime that is appropriate for kids. Similar anime like Dragon Ball was popular with youth as well, however, the violence and humor were a lot more adult than many preferred.

Naruto is about the titular young boy whose father passes away while trying to protect his village. Jordan even collaborated on a Naruto clothing line with the Coach brand. Now, a recent casting call reveals that the project is progressing in its development. The description for the lead and supporting actors called for two Asian males and one female. The other supporting actors and villains are also meant to be of Asian descent.

After the confirmation that the Naruto live-action movie is still in development, the biggest takeaway is really the fact that the studio is set on an all Asian cast. This should alleviate some concerns that fans may have for the live-action version.

Most live-action adaptations of popular anime have regularly been miscast with Caucasian actors in roles that were clearly Asian in the source material. Most notable of these incidents were the casting of Goku in the live-action Dragonball Z movie, and the casting of Scarlett Johansson as Major in the Ghost In The Shell live-action movie. No confirmation yet on when the Naruto live-action movie will release.

I'm trying real hard to do that cool Naruto run. Lionsgate is currently producing a live-action film adaptation of "Naruto" with Michael.

Anime that should become live-action series (and anime that shouldn’t)

I would absolutely love to see a live action Naruto. I'd intend to start off with a feature film, chronicling the events of Naruto from the beginning to the death of Zabuza. After that, move over to television and create remakes of the episodes, minus the fillers, with another feature film every once in a while for big parts of the story. I think it would actually be very good and it would help spread the emotional appeal of Naruto to a broader audience. Just so long as M Night Shyamalan stays far, far away from it. All right, here goes The ability to convey raw emotion is probably the most important thing about Naruto as a character. Not going to lie to you, though, the primary reason I chose him was purely cosmetic.

Here is an Update on the Live-Action NARUTO Film

Much has been said already about the new live-action remake of Ghost in the Shell. The thought process and motivations behind such productions seems easy enough to grasp. Not to mention Warner Bros. After destroying the nefarious Cronos organization in the first film, Sean is stirred by mysterious visions to travel to a hidden archaeological site in search of a means to find peace with the Guyver. To be frank, even when compared to the original, Guyver: Dark Hero feels like a comedy of movie-making errors, with hammy dialogue, stiff fight scenes, and an ill-fitting soundtrack of over-aggressive synth scores combined with at one point, I shit you not, auto-tuned cat screeches.

Hollywood Live-Action Production of 'Naruto' Announced

A stand against Hollywood anime: The RE:Anime team, which is composed of creators who are self-confessed anime fans, wanted to make a statement with their film that creating good live-action anime adaptations is possible, NextShark previously reported. News of a Lionsgate Naruto project first emerged in , with Aussie filmmaker Michael Gracey reportedly in talks to direct. Fan reception to it has been lukewarm, and whatever buzz the film had when the story broke eventually fizzled out and no other update has been released about it since. Ryan General. Remember, remember the mids, when V for Vendetta hit the scene? Everyone thought the Wachowskis made the film, but James McTeigue was also on their team. While Ninja Assassin featured great fight scenes, the characters featured in the film were some of the weakest aspects of the project. Lana and Lilly Wachowski are huge fans of anime — their projects like The Matrix Trilogy and, of course, their live-action adaptation of Speed Racer are proof positive of this claim. The Wachowskis have also proven that they can direct high-concept action films with strong, memorable characters.
