More of the classic Godzilla animated series will soon be available for streaming. Toho International Inc. The second season of the show was never officially release on home video and has consequently been rarely seen since it was originally broadcast over 40 years ago.

A trailer for the second season was also released, which shows Godzilla battling a giant squid and Godzooky encountering a massive insect. The new episodes will begin streaming on June 6.

The Hanna-Barbera produced cartoon, now referred to as The Original Series to differentiate it from the subsequent animated entries in the franchise, originally aired on NBC in the late s and early '80s as part of the Godzilla Power Hour, a programming block that paired it with another one of the animation studio's shows, such as Jana of the Jungle or Jonny Quest.

The show's first season, which is comprised of 13 episodes, is already available for streaming on YouTube. The Godzilla animated series is best known for introducing the character of Godzooky, Godzilla's human-sized, cowardly nephew. Godzooky travels the world with a team of human scientists, lead by the heroic Captain Carl Majors.

The team frequently finds themselves in dangerous situations involving a variety of giant monsters and are often forced to call Godzilla for help. The show is also notable for its loose representation of Godzilla's size and powers, which often change from scene to scene. The show was the first animated series to be focused on the King of the Monsters, but was far from the last.

A second American-prodcued cartoon, entitled Godzilla: The Series , premiered in as a tie-in with Roland Emmerich's much-maligned big-budget theatrical reboot of the iconic kaiju.

The animated series ran for two seasons and received a substantially more positive reception from fans and critics than the movie it was based on. The most recent animated series in the franchise, Godzilla: Singular Point , was released in as a Netflix streaming exclusive. Godzilla's next big screen outing, meanwhile, is currently in production. The movie will reportedly be a direct sequel to 's Godzilla Vs. Kong and will star Legion's Dan Stevens.

On good days I consider " Citizen Kane " the seminal film of the sound era, but on bad days it is "King Kong. It's simply to observe that this low-rent monster movie, and not the psychological puzzle of "Kane," pointed the way toward the current era of special effects, science fiction, cataclysmic destruction, and nonstop shocks. A movie like "Silence of the Lambs," which finds its evil in a man's personality, seems humanistic by contrast. I've seen "King Kong" many times, most memorably in its re-release in the s, when it did indeed scare me. The movie plunders every trick in the book to create its illusions, using live action, back projection, stop-motion animation, miniatures, models, matte paintings and sleight-of-hand. And it is not stingy with the effects; after a half-hour of lumbering dialogue and hammy acting, the movie introduces Kong and rarely cuts away from sequences requiring one kind of trickery or another. But "King Kong" is more than a technical achievement. It is also a curiously touching fable in which the beast is seen, not as a monster of destruction, but as a creature that in its own way wants to do the right thing. Unlike the extraterrestrial spiders in the "Alien" pictures, which embody single-minded aggression, Kong cares for his captive human female, protects her, attacks only when provoked, and would be perfectly happy to be left alone on his Pacific Island.

Photomosaics are images composed of smaller images tiles. Viewed close up the details of the tiles are evident and the big picture is lost. Viewed from a distance the detail of the tiles is lost and the big picture is evident. We show how photomosaics can be generated by evolutionary search and how animations can be created by using the best individuals in a generation as frames of a movie. Our animations explore self representation through dynamic reinterpretations of mosaic and iconography traditions using target images and tiles that we created.
