A behind the scenes featurette for Aardman's latest stop-motion short Robin Robin has been released, which focuses on Gillian Anderson 's Sex Education , The X-Files smooth and intimidating performance. Anderson portrays Cat, the villain of the animated short. Robin Robin hit Netflix this past week just in time for the holidays. Therefore it was an easy choice for her to sign on for a project made by the studio. There were still some surprises, however, with the actress overlooking that she would need to perform a song for the film. Much to her relief, the song ended up being more talkative in nature, though the menacing quality of her voice still shines through. Ben Please and Beth Porter , the composers of the film, paired up the bass clarinet with the richness of her vocal performance.

The activities are simple enough for a first grader, but the stories and their accompanying questions are at a fourth or fifth grade level. Depending on age, children can grow frustrated or bored with activities or story questions. The storyteller itself is fun for kids of any age since all they need to do is listen and play short video clips. Those who have seen the animated TV series or the direct-to-video movies know that the animated Batman the one used in this game is far superior to any live action one. Why they chose Quinn over her boss, The Joker, is beyond me, nor was I sure why Penguin was left out.

Unable to sneak around like her siblings and father, Robin feels out of place. She meets a materialistic magpie Richard E. Grant , who tells her about the human tradition of wishing on a Christmas star.

Episodic television primarily, but feature work as well. I believe in keeping the story clear and entertaining, giving a touchstone to the emotional journey, and never shying away from a good laugh. I draw every day, which is handy when communicating with artists.

The amount of work that goes into one short sequence of stop-motion animation is pretty incredible. Scripts and storyboards are set. A roughly animated storyboard, called an animatic , locks in timing for visuals and sound. Sets are built.

Just in time for the holidays, Aardman Animations has released Robin Robin , their first ever stop-motion musical starring a clumsy, lyrical little bird who desperately wants to be a sneak-tastic mouse. She's trying to be like them and sing her song while sneaking, but it doesn't work. And after her journey, the resolve is she figures out where her song goes, where it fits in and her place with it and has a newfound confidence in her melody. Weaving those analogies and lyrics through the film was a really great, extra dimension of storytelling that we hadn't used before. Eventually, Robin's repeated failures to quietly sneak result in almost no houses left for the mice to steal from.

Jennifer Wolfe. Adeel Akhtar voices the caring but cautious Dad Mouse single-handedly raising a family of five, joined by Richard E. Grant as the obsessive collector Magpie, and Gillian Anderson as the deliciously villainous Cat. From the start, Ojari and Please knew they wanted to tell their story in musical form.
