Phantom World: Myriad Colors is an anime that incorporates several genres, including action, comedy, fantasy, slice-of-life, and supernatural. It follows a group of friends as they deal with the everyday problems that phantoms tend to cause. Myriad Colors Phantom World is an anime series based on a light novel of the same name written by Souichirou Hatano and illustrated by Shirabi. It debuted on December 20, , and lasted until February 17, , with three volumes.
The light novel won an honourable mention in the novel category of the 4th Kyoto Animation Award in The anime adaptation is produced by Kyoto Animation, a studio with a strong reputation in the anime world for their outstanding animation work on most of their adaptations. Their most famous works include the popular anime film Koe no Katachi, the godlike animation Violet Evergarden, and one of the saddest romance anime Clannad.
The first season of the anime series Myriad Colors Phantom World premiered on January 7, , and lasted 13 episodes before ending on March 31, It consists of seven episodes.
Each episode is only 6 minutes long and has comedic elements while maintaining the main characters from the series. The main reason for this is that Kyoto Animation is just adapting the first volume of the light novel into a episode anime, and you can immediately tell that they had to add a lot of filler to make it work.
