Very solid book. I've always loved Robotech. As a child of the 80s I used to hurry home to watch the show. I've played using the Pallidum ruleset but they are cumbersome.

If that lawsuit is resolved in favor of the remaining defendants, it would probably be a month or two before we get it. Doubt it, given that HBS decided to avoid using Unseen 'mechs from the get-go to avoid ruffling Harmony-Gold's feathers. That didn't work perfectly, of course, since HG sued them anyway but then later backed out, most likely because of an out-of-court settlement with HBS.

In the case of Macross, they licensed the designs from Twentieth Century Imports. And that's more or less where the lawsuits started. The problem with this first lawsuit is that FASA settled, and that decision openned the door to what's been going on to this day. After the suit, FASA basically decided to purge all the designs that weren't created in-house.

This included the Macross designs like the Warhammer, Marauder and the LAMs as well the designs from other anime like the Locust and even some of the designs that they had contracted from Victor Musical Industries.

These mechs became the Unseen. For many players the Unseen are the iconic battlemechs, so attempts to redesign them have generally been met with scorn from the playerbase. Overtime most of the non-Macross models have come back in and are kind of seen-unseen. Yeah, Harmony Gold pretty much exists to yell at people, these days. Hell, awhile back they even got angry at Hasbro over some Transformers toy at a convention because the vehicle mode slightly resembled a real-life jet which meant it slightly resembled a Macross Valkyrie.

Went as far as Harmony Gold demanding Hasbro have all the toys returned for destruction. Hasbro ignored this, as far as I'm aware, and Harmony Gold didn't press the matter farther probably because HG was aware that Hasbro had a far larger army of lawyers than they did.

It gets more complicated because the rights for the images have to be specific for intended release. It can be done when the stars align but HG has always been a speed bump.

Get from Thingiverse. As such, I recommend printing it in red. It's designed for US specifically California plates, which measured to mm x mm If you want to go with Max's, switch all the Red parts to blue. I originally designed this thicker, and to use 6mm m3 screws to hold it together, but it was too thick for my car, so I brought it down to 6mm thickness. This means the m3 screw holes can't really be used, except to hold the pieces together while superglue sets. I also included optional Bottom Spikes to line up with the holes on the bottom of the license plate, which helps set it with my car, which has the corresponding holes in the bumper.
