This movie has horrible reviews online, but as a literature teacher, I felt it had a good plot, the characters were well developed and it had a positive overall message and theme. I disliked the fact that Tom and Jerry talked and as a child I had to rely on their actions indirect characterization to figure out what was going on. I disliked the fact that other characters were missing, specifically Spike, although there was a character like Spike not sure if he is supposed to be him or not. I decided to buy this movie because my son wanted it, and he had 2 good weeks at school so it was a reward he has obsessive compulsive disorder. AS adults, lets not get too carried away with ratings and lets remember that this is for children's enjoyment and to be shared with your family. There is mention of the mother dying and a little girl thinks she is suddenly orphaned, so there are themes that children should discuss with their parents.
