Arnold is known to wear a small blue cap adorned on top of his football shaped head. Although most fans have thought Arnold to be wearing a kilt, he's actually wearing a long red plaid shirt that peaks out underneath his sweater. Although Arnold had a crush on Ruth McDougal in season one, she was a 6th grader. The classmate that Arnold had a crush on was Lila Sawyer. Although we can assume that Arnold did have a last name, as a part of a running gag on the show, his last name was never revealed. Throughout the series, you'll see Gerald wearing a red basketball jersey.

Brainy is a fictional character in the Hey Arnold! TV Series. Brainy is a quiet, kind of creepy kid who stalks Helga around and often randomly showing up in the least expected places whenever Helga is present, the most notable occasions being " Haunted Train " in which, comically, he is the only character to possibly witness the annual occurrence of the real haunted train unless it was returning from the steel mill and " Wheezin' Ed ".
