I hope that Tooru will overcome the challenges he is about to face. I have a feeling that he is stronger now than he was in the beginning, and can get past the things troubling him. There is also an anime version, and sadly I have only watched that version of it. It was ok thou. I want to read the original thing one day. Most of the happenings in that game are like Root A thou, and are set in alternative universe. The game is only in Japanese at the moment. A few weeks back a novel version about Jail was published. It has been awhile since I read it, but if I remember correctly there was an foreword I have only read the foreword from Ishida where he told that the events in the novel would be a bit different when compared to the game.

All the Qs kinda have aspects of Kaneki like we talked about before, I get the impression Tooru will be a Kaneki that didn't accept that ghoul side. Makes sense. It was mentioned a while back, but it's speculated that Rio is Shikorae because when you remove the book's jacket, there's an illustration of Shikorae that overlaps with Rio.

I don't remember if it was brought up at one point, but that calendar picture is a continuation of a bonus illustration in :re vol. There's no translation for the new illustration right now anyway since it just came out. Ishida's art is sometimes inspired by his favorite songs, so he adds the lyrics to show exactly what he had in mind. I've no idea who the person on the left is supposed to be. The most popular guesses seem to be Arima or Shuu.

The main Tokyo Ghoul franchise, including the TV series available from Anime Limited and the live-action film released this summer in Japan, focuses on the adventures of Kaneki and his induction into the Ghoul realm. However, the series made clear there were many other stories to be told about this world, about a huge range of characters.
