Spontaneous Human Combustion: a chaotic phenomenon that has plagued humanity for years, randomly transforming ordinary people into flaming, violent creatures known as Infernals. While Infernals make up the first-generation accounts of Human Combustion, the second and third generations became known as pyrokinetics—people gifted with the ability to manipulate and control their flames while remaining human. Young and eager third-generation pyrokinetic Shinra Kusakabe, nicknamed Devil's Footprints for his explosive ability to ignite his feet at will, becomes a member of the lively Special Fire Force Company 8. Upholding the brigade's duty to extinguish the blazing Infernals and lay their souls to rest, Shinra is determined to become a hero who will save the lives of those threatened by the flame terror. However, this is not the hero's game Shinra imagined.
The year is Solar Calendar The risk of death runs high, but among the usual deadly fare, one grisly method of demise stands out the most: Death by fire. Known as the "Spontaneous Human Combustion", many people now face the risk of turning into "Infernals", rampaging beasts with no control over themselves and in a state of burning pain. It's a completely random and extremely fatal process, with nearly no way to stop it. To combat this, the world established "Special Fire Forces" - groups with members who can control flames enough to extinguish the Infernals and put the rampaging souls to rest. Some officers can control fire, while others can create fire in unique ways. Shinra Kusakabe is one such person. Armed with the power of Devil's footprints and a fiendish smile, he aims to become a hero and uncover the secret of the Infernals to better the world as a member of Special Fire Force Company 8. However, Company 8 exists as Internal Affairs to investigate the secrets and lies of many groups across The Empire. Meaning Shinra and his allies will have to journey across the nation and battle criminals, cults and other officers to uncover the truth about the Infernals.

A Season 3 date has yet to be released for this pyro-centric shonen, so for anybody who hasn't already binged, I recommend you stop reading and go to Hulu, Crunchy Roll, or Funimation and start now. As for the rest of you that are still reading, here's a list of my favorite fights so far through the series in no particular order. To start it off, we have the first infernal encounter that the Special Fire Force Company 8 battle with after having their roster complete. We get to see Company 8 really put all their abilities and skills on display. Princess Hibana wasn't winning viewers over with her insane treatment of her fellow Company members, or her overall condescending nature to anyone she felt was beneath her. We do get some context as to why she's the cynic and abuser she is, and find out all she needed was a good whooping to break her out of her ways. After Iris disappears, Company 8 goes to save their comrade, which leads Shinra and the Company 5 Captain to go toe to toe.
Fire Force – Season 1 Episode 24 (The Finale) Recap & Review
Last time, I talked about one of the most underrated anime of the Japanese summer. Being a third generation pyrokinetic, Shinra is able to produce flames and even fly using them. It is this special ability that allows him to enlist in Special Fire Force Company 8 headed by Captain Akitaru Obi and his band of firefighters.
