Now if there was ever an anime to suggest that no matter how small and unpopular you are no matter how insignificant you feel this anime will put a smile on your face and give you hope that you can achieve many great things. Accel world is set in the year where a technology system called nuero-synchronisation has become widespread that enables its users to manipulate there senses, connect to the internet and enter V-R worlds. The accel world is ruled over by the 5 kings of colour who are all level 9 one level below the level cap which once reached they will meet the creator of the game itself. Now straight to the point is Accel world worth watching in my opinion yes it is there are a few points around half way through that may seem slightly tedious but overall it is worth a watch for anyone that likes the sci-fi element involved and it does have quite a sweet love interest between the main characters for those out there that like there romance, all in all a solid anime with a good storyline.

She sees throught his self-imposed barriers and sends him an app called Brain Burst after seeing him score a high number on a virtual game. But with this, you can accelerate, so a few seconds IRL translate into minutes in the field —which can become addictive.
All of the Burst Linkers have different skills and powers that determine the color and the range of the avatar; they also come from our combined fears and abilities. The only rule: to fight against others to gain points, so when they reach level 10, they can talk to the creator. That is until Haruyuki gets into the picture.
He has a new ability that nobody else has had before: wings. Wings that can truly fly and whose acceleration is faster than anyone. I love Accel World so much. I love how Haruyuki grows into accepting and loving himself. He proves himself to his friends, to Kuroyuhime, but most importantly, to himself. I absolutely adore the way Haru and Kuroyukihime become friends and eventually they develop a crush on each other. The concept is just amazing.
A total virtual world. In that Kamen Rider series, they have this mirror world which equates to Accel World virtual world exclusively used by those who have the power of Burst Link. However, I would be honest that Futuristic.
I have high expectations for this, because of reviews which talked about how much better this one compare to SAO series. I don't know maybe its just me. The show takes place many years in the future where the youngest people, those aged fifteen years and younger, are implanted at birth with the ability to access a special virtual reality network.
Information, games, they are all activities that are now done in cool and exciting new way. But none of this can change human nature. There are still bullies everywhere you look. Our hero, Haruyuki, is the victim of one such bully. The little boy is overweight and has serious, and I mean serious , self-esteem issues. His whole life as an overweight, but really weak, boy has been of not daring to do better than anyone else but his two childhood friends.
If he does do so, he will be tormented and beaten up by others as a sign to "learn his place". He has learned it, all too well. Then one day, a beautiful upperclassman, a girl called Kuroyukihime in the school, befriends him and helps stop his bullying problem.
She does so as she introduces him to a new world in the virtual network. A hidden world known only to a few. The Accelerated World of Brain Bursters. Now introduced to this new world of great possibilities and freed from his tormentors, Haru determines to do whatever his princess needs and help her fulfill her dreams of reaching the highest levels of the Accel World.
This book was a fun, if difficult, read. It can be kinda cool to see this character grow, and his interactions with his friends is cool. At the same time, however, like with other books such as Mansfield Park and others, it is really difficult to watch the abuse he takes and to read of his devastated psyche.
There are warning signs that his mother and him don't get along and it's just so sad. My only problem was that there wasn't enough characterization given to the other main characters, such as Kuroyukihime, Chiyuri, and Takuma. Some for the latter two, especially Takuma, but not enough. In all, a fun read and I can't wait until the next one is released from Yen On in 16 days. Interesting concept, though the idea of "quantum brain signals" is hilariously bad technobabble.

This is a good book that starts off a great light novel series. The futuristic setting and focus on the overlap of the virtual and real world quickly pull in the reader, though I think at times the author got a little too focused on the virtual world plot and allowed it to taint some of the better real world scenes.

However, what holds me back and what loses this book a few stars is that the author very clearly crosses the line a few times between 'setting up an underdog protagonist' and 'fat shaming'. Every page we need to be reminded that Arita is fat and sweaty. In the anime things are a little better since it is implied that Arita is also afraid that he might hurt his friends in a rage since he has angry mood swings, which adds more balance to his self loathing.
In the books, however, it's all about his body. He hates his fat.

Arita, on the other hand, is clearly unattractive. Strangely enough, he reminds me a lot of Shinji Ikari, another pity-party teenager, whose body was heroine-chic thin and who wore high-waters. With these clear physical flaws, the emotional flaws make more sense as they follow. Even people who seem to have it all together are imperfect. In my teaching life, I once taught a beautiful young lady who was also incredibly smart, studious, kind, and funny.

However, after meeting Kuroyukihime and receiving Brain Burst, he can stand up for himself and help Kuroyukihime in achieving her dreams. Later on in the course of the plot, he begins to admit that beyond helping her with her goal of reaching level 10 and knowing the purpose of Brain Burst, little by little he discovers that his dream is in fact, to always be by her side for Kuroyukihime is the person he loves the most even though he does not have the courage to tell her, despite knowing that she also loves him unconditionally. He is also very determined to keep his friendship with Taku and Chiyu after the many problems between them and because of that determination, he strives for the best. Haruyuki is also rather indecisive and often doubts himself. However, as Silver Crow, he is more confident and rather crafty to the point that it was comparable to Yellow Radio. Haruyuki is the child of Saya Arita who met and married Haruyuki's father while studying for a Master's degree in Tokyo. They then divorced when Haruyuki was seven. It had been hinted that Haruyuki overheard his parent's conversation before their divorce.

Basically, this show follows Arita Haruyuki, basically a loser at school who is constantly bullied and whatnot. Haru meets the Kuroyukihime, the pretty girl in school that everyone idolizes, and she gives him a program that allows him to enter the Accelerated World. The story starts out pretty. She seems way too attached to him despite how idiotic he is about her kindness. Mayuzumi Takumi seems to be the character that Haru will aspire to become…the sorta cool, strong guy, I guess.

Surprisingly, Accel World actually delivers on an interesting premise and a very unusual style of protagonist character designs. The result to me feels like this show is going to be another Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon: wacky for different reasons , but quite serious when it has to be. His escape from such a nightmare is a virtual reality where his life is much better, despite his avatar being a pig. The most popular girl in school, Kuroyukihime Sachika Misawa , is intrigued by Haruyuki to the point where she invites him to the Accelerated World, a special type of world that is home to the Burst-Linkers. I gotta hand it, this is a good way to show how bullying is actually depicted because I really felt for Haruyuki, despite being the first episode I can definitely see him losing his cowardice.
It is Neuro-linkers allow you to type on virtual keyboards, move icons around, and even help correct your eyesight, to say nothing of the amazing entertainment possibilities. Everyone now has a real self and a virtual self, created by your own self-image.
