New ‘Garfield’ Series Set at Nickelodeon
What started as a rare anomaly for particular movies has become the true metric of success for the biggest action movies of each year. With a brilliant story from Michael Crichton, Jurassic Park drew audiences to the theaters with an incredible combination of practical animatronics from the legendary Stan Winston and groundbreaking CGI Computer-Generated Imagery. It was unlike anything moviegoers had seen before, making it an instant hit worldwide.
While it is only the 42nd highest grossing film now, Jurassic Park earned a record-setting 1. The Toy Story series was always ahead of the curve, but Toy Story 3 took the series to new heights. Aging with its audience, Toy Story 3 examined what happens to the toys children grow out of, those children that grew up with the first two films. The result was one of the best stories ever seen in an animated movie and a titan at the box office.
There was never anything like it, and probably never be anything quite like the theatrical experience of Avengers : Endgame. Finally, after years of slowly building the story across the MCU, the Infinity Saga was complete with an incredible film that brought every storyline and character together.
The hype around Endgame was truly unreal, and the film delivered on that, bringing an end to some iconic characters while also sending the MCU in a new direction. On paper, Joker should not be included in this list. An R-rated film that was not connected to any cinematic universe as of yet , and centered around a Batman villain without Batman appearing in the movie goes against everything that has made several MCU films so successful.
Despite all of this, it turns out that Joker was exactly what fans were looking for, and the film was a massive critical and commercial success. Joaquin Phoenix received praise and awards for his performance, and Todd Phillips is moving forward with a sequel to the original film. After years of waiting for post-credit scenes, MCU fans finally got to see the Mad Titan Thanos on the big screen, and he did not disappoint.
Dozens of characters and several storylines converged for one massive quest to save the universe from Thanos, but the heroes failed, and the villain won this time. It is rare for the sequel to a film over 36 years old to be a greater critical and commercial success than the original film, but that is exactly what Top Gun: Maverick became.
The movie is an excellent mix of nostalgia and new storylines while paying homage to the original and improved visual effects. The perfect end to the best trilogy of all time, The Lord of the Rings : The Return of the King, is as good as it gets. Few films have captured the epic feeling of a finale like The Return of the King , which is due to a brilliant cast, terrific story, and a perfect soundtrack from Howard Shore.
The Lord of the Rings films were all massive commercial successes, each building on the previous installment, and The Return of the King was a culmination of all of that.
It is the standard to which all superhero films are subsequently held. If there is ever a discussion over the best superhero film of all time, The Dark Knight is almost always involved. A great sequel built off Batman Begins, The Dark Knight took the series in a newer, darker direction.
