Though writing emotionally driven letters proves to be difficult, Violet is eventually able to tap into her heart , impacting others just as they impact her. She discovers many forms of love along her journey and, in turn, starts to make sense of what it means to her -- specifically the words "I love you" said to her by her beloved Major Gilbert Bougainvillea. An accomplished solider in the fictional Leidenschaftlich Army, Gilbert's older brother, Dietfried, gifts him with a young Violet -- having found her abandoned on a battlefield -- as a present for his promotion.

The fourth episode of Violet Evergarden is another slice of live story, though one more pertinent to the overall story than the third episode.
As always, the visuals are gorgeous, the soundtrack is fitting, and the direction is superb. The most important thing, though, is how truly heartfelt these little stories are. This one made me choke up, and I hope that the future episodes will be just as excellent. Details Edit.

It is the end of a brutal war that has engulfed the continent of Telsis. As the people and nations of the land attempt to recover and rebuild, a girl who has known nothing but death and violence begins a new life at the CH Postal Company in the grand city of Leiden, capital of Leidenschaftlich. What few know is that this beautiful young lady, Violet Evergarden, was formerly known as the "Battle Maiden of Leidenschaftlich," who served with distinction in a special operations unit under Major Gilbert Bougainvillea's command in Leidenschaftlich's Army. In the final battle of the war, Violet loses both her arms and her Major, and after recovering from her injuries, is taken under the care of former army officer Claudia Hodgins, the founder of CH Postal. In addition to fielding regular mail services, CH Postal also employs Auto-Memory Dolls, skilled typists who ghostwrite letters for the illiterate and for those who seek help expressing their feelings through words.

It's no secret that Kyoto Animation is a feel-good studio, with amazing aesthetics and heart-warming stories. The anime series Violet Evergarden is arguably amongst the studio's gems, due to its round main character, who develops in amazing ways over the course of the show. But there is one question that the main series never answers; does the titular character end up together with her beloved Major? First, a short overview. In Violet Evergarden, the titular character is an orphan girl in a fictional war-torn country that resembles Central Europe. Brought up as a child soldier, Violet has never experienced affection; instead, she's been conditioned to consider herself as a tool. She grows to young adulthood completely out of touch with her feelings, and the only person who ever showed her love was Gilbert, a major in the unit of whom she fought.

Tons and tons of anime are produced every year for every genre by different animation studios. Fans enjoy those anime and move on to another. The series received its share of good and bad from the critics back when it was first aired. But usually, the show got a big thumbs up for its multiple elements like great animation, work on the small details, and obviously, its great story. It did not just keep us from enjoying more of Angel Beats! The show revolves around a group of students who fight an overpowered girl with superpowers in an afterlife high school.
I'm in an awkward position reviewing this film, because it's impossible for me to talk about the basic plot without mentioning spoilers. The main spoiler moment is actually in the trailers, though, so hopefully I can be forgiven for writing a spoiler review this time. If you haven't seen the trailers and want to go into this film without knowing about the story, then by all means give this review a miss. For everyone else, here's your spoiler warning up-front.
