Most anime fans are well aware of the immense popularity of Vocaloid. But not all fans know that Vocaloid has inspired a few manga and anime series. Despite Vocaloid's years of popularity, a handful of adaptations flew under the radar. There are more manga than anime series inspired by the popular music software, and with many, it's as if they never existed, even though most of them are fairly recent.

My Top 10 Favorite Hatsune Miku Songs

You are goddamned correct and they do it so well. Users are able to input lyrics and pitch shift them to form melodies. Skatsune Miku goes solo, giving a more hauntingly clean take due to the autotune, but kicks in with as much energy as the original, albeit with upstrokes and a bouncing bass line later on.

The result is similar to Potshot or Hey-Smith, sans horns. Side note, if you have never heard of The Blue Hearts, go check out the original music video for this song.

While not the first punk band in Japan, they are arguably the most popular. If you are a fan of anime, some of these may ring a bell. They could be described as a scrappier version of Jimmy Eat World and have a great back catalogue to discover. While the original version starts off with a guttural chorus of screams, Skatsune Miku is only capable of a pitch perfect descending simulation that sounds like an A.

Points for trying, but it does show a flaw with the vocaloid software, as in it cannot inject emotion into the vocals.

Reviewer Rating. The mystery group, Tokyo by way of Orange County, California, has definitely released a labor of love out into the world. With the lyrics not being in English, for the most part, the listener is able to appreciate the sense of melody that the original songwriters crafted; having a singing program emulate them in perfect pitch and harmony only highlights them that much more.

At least give this release a chance; you might end up enjoying it, if only for sheer novelty, but the songs are fun and catchy enough for repeated listens.

If a computer-generated vocalist unnerves you, maybe use this to ease you into our inevitable future where Skynet does indeed become real, but takes over by way of music idols instead of laser beams, bullets, and metal skeletons. Previous Review Charger: Warhorse.

Are there any other anime soundtracks that incorporate a vocaloid singer or a similar synthesized voice program such as Miku? It's probably going to be pretty rare for anime soundtracks to be featured with a Vocaloid singer, since the talent tie-ins and money for making anime want to promote their in-house talent so they want to use their own live singers. You can see a lot of famous vocaloid producers get hired for their music but instead of the vocaloid voice track, they use in-house talent for the voice:. Jon Lin's answer is good, so I don't think I have anything to add in that direction. As he says, using Vocaloid singers for songs of full-length anime rather than animated music videos is rather uncommon. It sometimes happens that a Vocaloid singer will be used in early stages of production, but by the time they are ready to release the song it's usually done by a live singer, which is generally more profitable. I only know of two instances of Vocaloids being used other than in the Black Rock Shooter shows which you mentioned.
