Every once in a while, I meet some youngster who knows I used to be an addict, as he is now, and he asks me what he can do to kick his habit. The alternative is death. Wade Bowen is singing the truth about being a country singer-songwriter, and he's bringing along a country legend to help him tell the story. Bowen describes pouring his heart and soul into his music, and although he doesn't always understand why he chose this path, he realizes that in the music lies truth. The track features simple acoustic guitar combined with balmy pedal steel, which encompasses the song by the end. Gill adds his recognizable and timeless harmonies throughout the first half of the song. Then, after a classic country-inspired interlude, he sings the last verse solo, reflecting on his own music career. The release of science fiction film RoboCop on July 17, , was the start of a slow ascent to cult status. It took audiences a while to understand the film's complexity — after all, the title would seem to suggest a cheap B-movie pre-feature. As parts of his memory filter through his three-directive programming, RoboCop discovers how corrupt the city is, and also that OCP installed a fourth, secret directive, which prevents him from acting against the corporation. They are also the people who are feeding the drug wars, so they can build more robots and fight the drug wars they themselves created! All these people are guilty — not only the people who shot me, but the people who made me, too. Desperate studio execs insisted on cutting seconds here and there in a bid to drop the bullet count to secure an R rating. Verhoeven resisted every edit, arguing that kids would find his violent scenes comedic, especially in the context of his direction.
