Oh no, there's been an error

It follows the story of Ko and the rest of the inhabitants that live underneath the bridge. This season is the second out of two. I would also like to point out that even though this states that it is Season 2, it means that it follows directly after Season 1 which is Under the Bridge. After watching the first season, come back and read this review.

Or you know, read on if you like, I tried my best not to spoil anything. The story of Arakawa Under the Bridge X Bridge takes place shortly after the events of the first season. It seems that the residents of under the bridge have become more welcoming to Ko or Rec as they call him and he himself has managed to fend off his asthma.

In this season of the series, it seems like the plot is actually starting to pick up. This is because early on, Rec and Nino really go through some great and hilarious character progression, not only for themselves but also for their relationship. And really, most of the seasons story follows the residents of under the bridge as they prepare to head for Venus.

Actually some of the most hilarious episodes in this season are the ones dedicated to some aspect of the group trying to achieve something towards heading into space.

The group gets segmented into smaller groups each trying different methods of losing their poundage. What I really liked about this season is that a lot of the characters that appeared once or twice in the previous season are much more fleshed out.

By adding more personalities into the already insane series, there is a lot more potential for hilarity. I must admit, that this potential was reached and I was laughing all the way through. It felt really open to interpretation and after being built up for a solid ending throughout the entirety of the season, I was left feeling confused.

Satisfied as it ended really well, but I was just confused. Seriously, could not stop laughing. Loved it. A lot of the jokes, gags, spoofs, etc. And it does this really incredibly well. With these kinds of cues, I really enjoyed how they would often reference a previous joke or repeat the same joke in another episode visually.

By having these calls it makes the show much more hilarious to the home viewer, which is rather important to this series. Everything looks as familiar and sometimes as odd as it always has. My favourite thing about Arakawa under the Bridge X Bridge, visually, is the huge number of facial expressions that Nino utilises throughout the series.

I remember in one scene where she pulls her jacket over her head and tries to make herself look more intimidating. That was hilarious, and cute, but mostly hilarious!

Unlike the first seasons opening, it took me a while to get into this seasons. It just felt a little odd to listen to. Honestly speaking, I think that the Japanese dubbing enhances the flavour of the comedy in the show. Arakawa Under the Bridge X Bridge comes equipped with a reasonable amount of extras.

These include end credit cards, TV spots, trailers and the like. I find it interesting that the release includes the end cards of the series because they usually make for some really cool wallpapers if you screenshot them on a computer.

Other than that, the Japanese TV spots are short but entertaining to watch. I think that everyone would find this hilarious to watch. Capsule Computers review guidelines can be found here. Post a Comment. After Kou well and truly revealed the extent of his fear of his father by the end of the last episode, it would perhaps have been asking too much for the residents under the bridge not to give him a hard time about it, and lo and behold he soon finds himself to be something of a laughing stock with everyone Of course, with Ric showing a moment of weakness Star sees an opportunity to muscle in on his territory with the smooth-cum-cheesy line of telling Nino to wish upon a star to make everything better - A suggestion that she eats up, of course. The trouble is, saying pretty much anything is dangerous in Maria's company, and after she clarifies that it's a shooting star you're supposed to wish upon you can probably guess where things are headed; before we know it, both Star and Ric with the latter borrowing the former's mask are repeatedly thrown from the top of the bridge to allow those below to wish on whatever they desire. Still, this appears to be more effective than you might think, as we soon see Kou's father informed that his contruction project and the entire bidding process for it has been stopped, with even Mr.

Kou Ichinomiya is a man who knows his place in the world.

It was nothing short of a face palm moment, so I was surprised to see Riku give teaching them how to swim another go by using Styrofoam packing as kick boards. However, I got a laugh out of it when Riku subtly added that it must taste like polypropylene due to his suit , before seeing that the Tetsujin brothers were still sold on it. Given the way things concluded here with Riku thinking about working as a teacher who teaches common sense and deviously looking forward to the prospect of doing so, it looks like the next episode may focus on that. Good face palming times! The moment Riku shared with Nino after teaching the brothers was very sweet.

This episode wrapped up the series about as much as you might expect. Ric is the surprise "star" of this episode. Everyone except Nino calls him out for being afraid of his father. Hoshi tries to take advantage of the situation with a creepy pickup line about wishing on a falling star.

It is not, sadly, as good as verbal and dialogue-based humour, and these parts never seem to work very well when animated, either.

But like a really long line in the food section of a wedding, it is worth it. So at least for me, the weirdness of this anime has hooked me in since the start. It is funny but not the kind where it will make me laugh out loud till my stomach hurts. And the comic juices of this anime made me happy throughout the entire series.
