Ever since I was a child, I loved reading all types of adventures. My imagination would flourish every time I would pick up a book. Now that I am older and have picked up this new hiking hobby, I have been obsessed with reading about the outdoors. The trials and tribulations that the characters go through really help me appreciate and love the outdoors even more.

This is why I have decided to make this fantastic list of my top adventure books. I have a few times, but then I come back to my senses. Well, this book is the closest I will be from climbing Mount Everest. It is a book about how the outdoors can sometimes be exactly what you needed in your life.

I have noticed that people either love or hate this book. There is no in-between. The thing is you have to start reading this book knowing that Cheryl Strayed is not a hiking expert whatsoever. Wild is just a book about a woman hurting and how the outdoors healed her. If you start reading this book with this in mind, then I am sure you will love it! This book is the winner of the National Outdoor Book Awards and for a good reason. It is a captivating story of a native Alaskan grandfather, and his grandson, James, and they embark on a canoe adventure to their ancestral homeland.

The writing is incredibly beautiful, and the characters seem like people we all know and love. It is such a fantastic outdoor adventure book to add to your collection. After graduating from college, Jennifer has a wild dream to hike the Appalachian Trail solo. The next four months are the most physically and emotionally challenging moments of her life.

This is a great outdoor story for women that want some thru-hike outdoor inspiration. Ok, I am going to confess something. I am obsessed with mystery or murder books. I listen to podcasts on the daily about mysteries. So when a friend recommended this book, I was extremely intrigued. Dead Mountain combines mystery and the love of the mountains. This book is all about the real crazy story of the Dyatlov Pass Incident.

In , nine experienced hikers in Russia died mysteriously in an area called Dead Mountain. It is a huge mystery on how they died as it was in the middle of winter, and all nine members were found without their shoes and limited clothing about a mile away from the campsite like I said in the middle of WINTER in Russia!

Crazy huh? It is one of the biggest hiking mysteries ever and has so many crazy conspiracies. She Explores is a perfect inspirational book for outdoorsy women. She Explores is a collection of stories of unforgettable adventures. This book combines photography and storytelling. Excellent coffee table book. I love survival stories, and this one is no exception.

He and his climbing partner reached the peak of Siula Grande in , and disaster strikes! Joe Simpson plunged off the vertical face of an ice ledge, breaking his leg. His climbing partner Simpson has to make a terrible decision on cutting the rope. What follows next is a crazy story about survival and the will to live.

This book is a memoir about a guy named Jedidiah Jenkins quitting his job and cycling from Oregon to Patagonia. He chronicles his trip by posting on Instagram and gains thousands of followers. He talks about the people and the wild places he encountered throughout the journey. He struggles with the idea of what it means to be an adult something I sometimes struggle with and his belief in travel. Some of my favorite places in the world are none other than the USA national parks.

My goal in life is to visit all 62 of them. Luckily I have this beautiful book to help inspire me. This book is filled with tips and beautiful pictures of all the USA national parks.

It is the perfect coffee table book for outdoor lovers. Another fantastic coffee table book is the new National Geographic book: Atlas of the National Parks. This book is absolutely fantastic. It is informative, has beautiful pictures, and maps of all the national parks in the USA.
