I tried to calm my mail-horror nerves by downing bagfuls of Scooby Snacks — but to no avail — I simply have no taste for horror films, for gore, for gratuitous violence. But, like the pepperpots of Doctor Who , I watched the television with one eye open. So sit back, relax and allow yourself to be taken back to a time when people were genuinely puzzled by Scooby-Doo. Many of the group's adventures involve villians who take on supernatural disguises ghosts and monsters ; the villians' activities usually involve blackmail, theft, fraud and other forms of corruption. The older generation and parents use the town's long history of ghost and monster sightings to bring in tourist and discourage Mystery, Inc. While proving the monsters to be fake, a mysterious new character known as Mr.

As in the original series, the villains of this series were always bad guys in rubber masks, a concept that they had gotten away from when Scrappy entered the show and the ghosts became real.
More cartoonish than the rest of the shows, the characters seemed to nod back to the old Warner Bros. Scooby-Doo and the gang are back for a modern version of the franchise that has been entertaining kids and adults for decades. In "Be Cool," Scooby and his friends -- Fred, Shaggy, Daphne and Velma -- hit the road in the Mystery Machine after high school ends to live it up one last summer before adulthood.
But, as is to be expected, it's not all fun and games for the crew members, who must deal with monsters and mayhem along the way. Working together, they hope to solve any mystery that gets thrown at them. The format basically stayed the same -- the most notable change being that each episode doubled in size from a thirty minute episode to sixty minutes.
Scooby and the gang still found themselves foiling the bad guys in rubber masks like in the original series, but this time around the guest stars would help out and be another source of comedic hijinks. Everyone knows Scooby-Doo. Everyone has their own special version of the show they grew up with and appreciates different things about it. In my case, I binged the franchise last year and watched all 15 shows and 46 movies. I would even watch those shows and movies that I rarely enjoyed again, by the pure fact that they are part of the franchise.

Scooby-Dooniverse: Scooby-Doo’s all-star guest stars!
Scooby-Doo in the month of September turns 50th years old so in honor of that this month I will be posting a ton of Mystery Inc. This show was my childhood. I will review this series later in the month so I will save my full thoughts for that post, but I thought it would be fun to rank all the different shows based around the character.

When a Warner Bros. It featured a cast of all white characters, voiced by all white actors, and their dog, Scooby. Over the decades, 12 actresses have voiced animated Velma and four others have played her in live-action adaptations. But if the new show is built around her and gives her a well-rounded arc with her own friends and love interests, that can be avoided. The fact that she could be nerdy, that was kind of revolutionary back then. Controversy and racism often ensues when people of color are cast in traditionally white roles. While the film is remembered now as a classic, it was met with racist comments from both viewers and industry professionals.
So, I saw this sitting there with a different take on Scooby-Doo and I kind of had to give it a try. So, I put on Be Cool, Scooby-Doo and found there were two full seasons there and from a couple years back, so it surprised me I was just happening upon it. Taking the same dynamics but essentially switching them all around and heightening the more awkward beats of every person made them so relatable. This little scene shows Fred attempting to re-paint the Mystery Machine in order to be less conspicuous as they try to clear their name.
