Before entering the lab in Maelon city the story will take you there , talk to one of the guards just outside and he will give you this quest.
The quest involves going back to the Undercity, where you got the fake ID for entering the lab. The undercity can be found on the lower part of the Maelon City map.
Once there, you'll encounter 3 shadow foxes scattered across the map, which you need to beat. After these fights, a message will pop up that the beast has appeared.
